Differentials XI – Gameweek 22

With gameweek 21 over, the Differentials XI need to start scoring some big points if they are to get into the top 50% of managers. Gameweek 21 saw them score 41 points, which was 11 points below average, and once again we saw some red arrows. Here is how the team looked:

Differentials

So, we decided to play Green as he had the easier fixture on paper, and its sod’s law that Mignolet decided to keep a clean sheet for once! The one game we leave him on the bench, he performs! In front of him we saw one clean sheet out of our 4 defenders, being Mertesacker, as Arsenal beat Stoke City 3-0, and he also brought in a bonus point! The three others (Cissokho, Trippier & Rangel) managed a total of 7 points between them.

In the middle of the park we saw Oscar bring home a massive 13 points, and if it wasn’t for him we would have seen an extemely poor points haul. Alongside him; Nasri, Fer and Johnson all scored only 2 points.

Finally up top we saw both Giroud and Benteke both blank and score 2 each, which made it even more painful as Giroud was our captain!

Anyway, onwards and upwards. The changes:

Cissokho (OUT) -> Cresswell (IN)

With Cissokho rising over 5% ownership, it forced our hand and decision and in comes Cresswell who has been performing extremely well of late. Here is how we line up:

Differentials

Starting XI: Mignolet (3.8%), Mertesacker (3.6%), Cresswell (3.9%), Trippier (1.9%), Johnson (3.3%), Barkley (3.8%), Nasri (2.1%), Oscar (4.5%), Giroud (4.5%), Benteke (1.2%), Falcao (2.6%)

Bench: Green (2.7%), Fer (1.8%), Alderweireld (2.5%), Rangel (0.7%)

This week we start Mignolet in goal as he has the easier fixture on paper (Green will probably keep a clean sheet now we have said this). In front of him we start Mertesacker who has a tough game against Manchester City at the Etihad. Meanwhile Cresswell and Trippier both start, with fixtures against Hull City and Crystal Palace respectively.

In the middle of the park we start; Johnson, Barkley, Nasri and Oscar. They all need to start scoring some points for us, otherwise we have no hope in hitting our target of the top 50%. There is no doubt that these lads could bring in the points, they just need to step up to the plate.

Finally, up top we start Giroud, Benteke and Falcao. Although Falcao was rested in the last gameweek, we expect Louis van Gaal to rotate the pack and start the striker. For these reasons we have also gambled and given him the armband – lets hope he does us proud.
