FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 19

Gameweek 19 saw FPL Updates XI absolutely smash it, scoring a MASSIVE 97 points, which saw the team jump all the way up to 14,330 in the rankings. Here is how the team looked:

FPL Updates

Firstly we can see that even though our keeper had one of the tougher fixtures of the gameweek on paper, Rob pulled it out of the bag, saving a penalty and making it into the Dream Team too! Keep it up Rob. In defence we saw 10 points from the 3 players, with a clean sheet coming from Taylor. This wasn’t a bad return, as there weren’t many points in defence this week.

In the middle of the park we saw 2 goals, 2 assists and a penalty miss between the four players (Downing, Sanchez, Sigurdsson and Hazard). These lads really stepped up this week, and we hope this will continue so we can rise further up the ranks.

Finally, here is where most of the points came from as Rooney, Kane and Costa scored 4 goals and assisted 2 between them, bringing in a total of 50 points from our forward players, which included Costa as our captain.

So, with no break, straight down to business:

Downing (OUT) -> Silva (IN)

With the transfer done, here is how we line up for gameweek 19:

FPL Updates XI Gameweek 19

In goal we start… You guessed it – Rob Green! This week he has a relatively ‘easy’ fixture against a manager-less Crystal Palace side at home. In the defence we start Clichy, Wisdom and Hutton. Here one gamble is Clichy as he may be rotated with Kolarov and rested. Also Wisdom and Hutton have fixtures against Stoke and Sunderland respectively, which are fixtures in which they could bring in some points for the team.

In the middle of the park we once again start; Hazard, Sigurdsson, Sanchez and our new signing Silva. Gameweek 18 saw a lot of points come from our forward players, so hopefully the trend will continue and each of them can once again play influential parts for their teams and find, or assist in finding, the back of the net!

Up top we are unchanged, starting Rooney, Kane and Costa. Hopefully all three can keep their goal scoring form and bringing in the big points for the team.

This week we have handed the captain’s armband to new signing Silva as he faces Burnley at the Etihad. We imagine City should find this a fairly easy fixture and there should be a lot of goals for our viewing pleasure. With our forwards having tough fixtures, we feel this may be the best opportunity for big captaincy points.
