FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 24

Gameweek 23 saw the FPL Updates XI score an above average 67 points, which saw us climb back up to 17,771 in the overall ranks. Here is how the team looked:

So big Timmy Krul went big again for us scoring a huge 9 points, which also earned him a place in the Dream Team for gameweek 23! At the back we had van Aanholt who joined Tim Krul in the Dream Team, scoring 12 points! Wisdom didn’t manage to get any more than 1 point this week, and Hutton ended up with nothing as he and Aston Villa got destroyed by Arsenal.

In the middle of the park, Walcott did us proud and grabbed us 8 points, however in hindsight we should have gone with form and Santi Cazorla as a result. Matching him on 8 points we have Eden Hazard, whilst Di Maria scored 5 and Downing just the 2.

Finally up top Aguero managed to bring home 5 points, and Kane scored a massive 13 and joined Krul and van Aanholt in the Dream Team. Finally, Wayne Rooney hurt our progression somewhat as we captained him and he could only bring home 4 points.

So this week we made no changes as we have a strong enough starting XI and fancy using the two transfers next week. Here is how we line up:

FPL Updates

This week we keep our faith in Tim Krul and start him for the second week in a row, as he and Newcastle face Stoke City at home. Just in front of him we start a back three of; Wasilewski, Wisdom and van Aanholt who play; Crystal Palace, Burnley and Swansea respectively. All of which are reasonable fixtures and ones in which we can hope for some point returns.

In the middle of the park we start Downing who has a tough fixture against Manchester United. On that note we also start Di Maria, 2 players who both can hopefully find some points in this fixture. Alongside them we start both Walcott and Hazard who face Tottenham and Aston Villa respectively. Hopefully they can both keep up their form after last week’s point hauls.

Finally up top we start Kane, Rooney and Aguero. We think this is the last week Rooney will feature in this team unless he can save his place with a big return as he has let us down on a number of occasions this season already. However both Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero both have promising futures in our team and as a result, we have handed the captain’s armband to Aguero, as he and Manchester City face Hull at home.
