FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 37

Gameweek 36 unfortunately saw some small red arrows for the FPL Updates XI, but they could have been green had we chosen the team differently. Anyway, here is how the team looked:

FPL Updates

So as we said, “No doubt now that we have benched Schmeichel he will go and score a goal, save a penalty and pick up three bonus points!”… yeah, that happened. Well granted he may not have scored a goal, but a 9 point haul compared to Myhill’s 3 is seen as a loss. A similar story in defence too as Duff and van Aanholt kept clean sheets, whilst our 3 starting defenders (McShane, Cahill and Hutton) couldn’t keep one between them!

In the middle of the park it was much of the same as Hazard, Sanchez and Cazorla all scored the standard points for playing. The unlikely hero here was Henderson who managed to pick up an assist and 7 points against Chelsea.

Again, up top, Kane and Giroud blanked, whilst Aguero certainly didn’t blank! 23 points (46 as captain) after a fine display against QPR, with 2 assists and a hat-trick! Same again this weekend Sergio?

So down to the business, no changes this week, two for the final week! Here are our changes and line-up for the penultimate gameweek:

FPL Updates

In-between the sticks we start Schmeichel as he and Leicester face Sunderland. Just in front of him we start a back three of; McShane, Cahill and van Aanholt. All have reasonable fixtures, but as the season gets to the last gameweeks, it can become that bit more unpredictable!

In the middle of the park we are unchanged, starting two double gameweek players, Cazorla and Sanchez. We have also kept hold of Henderson as Liverpool play Palace and Hazard who has a fixture against West Brom this week. Sanchez is our captain this week, hopefully he will do us proud with the two fixtures against United and Sunderland.

Once again we are unchanged up top, starting Aguero, Kane and Giroud. Kane and Giroud have been a bit hit and miss of late, so hopefully this is the week they re-find the back of the net!
