After some mouthwatering Game-week 5 fixtures, we are now looking towards Game-week 6, with the hope that there are no mid-week injuries in the League Cup fixtures. Here is what we expect to see in the upcoming Game-week:
Liverpool vs Everton
We have the first Mersyside derby of the 2014/2015 season this week, which is always a great game to watch, with both sides eager to win. The emotional clash has historically given some amazing games and hopefully we will be seeing another here.
STAR MAN – Jordan HENDERSON
The new vice captain and sure to be the future captain of Liverpool will want to prove a point here with his first Mersyside derby holding this position.
Chelsea vs Aston Villa
The league leaders are at home to Aston Villa this weekend and will look to extend their lead at the top with a win. Villa on the other hand will look to cause another upset against Chelsea after they beat Liverpool in game-week 4.
STAR MAN – Diego COSTA
Costa was tightly marked by Kompany and Mangala last week. However, he has shown that against the weaker defences he can punish teams and this could happen again here.
Crystal Palace vs Leicester
Here we have two of the lower half of the table teams coming against each other. Leicester City will want to continue thier good form after their amazing 5-3 win over Manchester United. Crystal Palace on the other hand will also be looking to continue their good form here after winning at Everton for the second time in 2 seasons in game-week 5.
STAR MAN – Jamie VARDY
With 4 assists and a goal against Manchester United, need we say anymore? This may seem like a bandwagon selection but he could be buzzing after his performance against United which could spur him on to perform highly once again.
Hull City vs Manchester City
With 6 points from 5 games, Hull will want to try take something away from this game but this will be difficult against the current champions, who will be looking to catch up with Chelsea.
STAR MAN – David SILVA
The Spaniard is constantly at the heart of everything Manchester City do and is always pulling the strings in midfield, we expect more of the same here.
Manchester United vs West Ham
Manchester United will be looking to bounce back on their embarrassing 5-3 defeat at Leicester City, and West Ham will look to continue thier good form after their 3-1 win over Liverpool. This could be an interesting fixture here.
STAR MAN – Angel DI MARIA
Di Maria has had an odd start to life with Manchester United. Although his form has been top class with 2 assists and 2 goals in 3 games, he and Manchester United have been losing games. Although United still look vulnerable, the Argentine’s form is unlikely to change.
Southampton vs QPR
Southampton are sitting pretty in second place and will look to continue this against what looks like a vulnerable QPR who have conceded 11 goals in their first 5 games.
STAR MAN – Morgan SCHNEIDERLIN
The Saints midfielder has had an impressive start to the season and is always in and around anything positive that they create.
Sunderland vs Swansea
Swansea will be looking to bounce back after their loss to Southampton at home in game-week 5. The sending off of Wilfried Bony did not help their cause as Wanyama scored the winner, and his first, for Southampton. Sunderland will be hoping for a better result than the one they got against draw-specialists Burnley.
STAR MAN – Gylfi SIGURDSSON
Gylfi has a great chance to get back to goal scoring form against Sunderland, especially after his goal mid-week against Everton in the Capital One cup. With Bony out suspended, Gomis should be the likely option up top and he could be deadly too when it comes to link-up play with the Icelandic playmaker.
Arsenal vs Tottenham
Along with the Mersyside derby we also have a mouthwatering derby between Arsenal and Tottenham, which will undoubtedly be full of passion and excitement.
STAR MAN – Emmanuel ADEBAYOR
With Adebayor having played for both teams, will it be fate (just as it was for Lampard) that he will be involved?
West Brom vs Burnley
West Brom got an unlikely win at White Hart Lane in game-week 5 and they will be looking to continue that against a team that has only scored a single goal in their first five games. Burnley have done well to earn as many points as they have due to a competent defence but they have failed to look threatening going forward.
STAR MAN – Saido BERAHINO
We expect the Baggies to follow up their win at Spurs with some points against Berahino. We know both of these teams like a draw but if there’s a goal, we imagine Berahino will be involved.
Stoke City vs Newcastle
Stoke managed only a draw against QPR in the previous game-week and a loss against Leicester in the week before that but they will hope that their luck is about to change against a struggling Newcastle at home. Newcastle will do all they can once again to attempt to regain form and save Alan Pardew’s job.
STAR MAN – Victor MOSES
This game is wide open and will need an individual to step up and take the fixture by the scruff of the neck. Moses may be a bit of a gamble here but he has shown he does have moments of magic. We reckon he can cause the Newcastle defence some problems this weekend and should help Stoke to some points from this fixture.
