Gameweek 10 Preview

It feels like only yesterday that the Barclays Premier League season kicked off but we are already approaching game-week 10! There are some big matches to look forward to as the race for the title hots up even more, so let’s take a look at what we expect:

NEWLIV

Newcastle v Liverpool

Pardew seems to have turned his team around with two wins on the spin, whilst Liverpool have been struggling to turn their performances into wins. This fixture has seen the most goals out of any fixture in Premier League history, so expect the back of the net to bounce a few times!

STAR MAN – Philippe COUTINHO

A bright spark for Liverpool this season, his trickery and skill should come in handy at St James’ Park (Sports Direct Arena), with the Brazilian bagging the man of the match award in his previous game.

ARSBUR

Arsenal v Burnley

There is very little hope for Burnley this season, and it looks like their hunt for a first win is going to go on even longer as Arsenal will be looking to score as many goals as they can to boost their goal difference in this fixture. A home win is most definite.

STAR MAN – Alexis SANCHEZ

Their top goal-scorer in the Premier League, Alexis has looked exciting and with two goals in his last game, there is no reason why he cannot add to his tally against a poor Burnley side.

CHEQPR

Chelsea v QPR

Chelsea are the only unbeaten team in the league and we cannot see QPR troubling that record, with the boys in blue looking to continue a 100% record at home against a QPR side that sit in the relegation zone. Although, QPR have troubled Chelsea in recent seasons when given the chance and a strong win against Aston Villa on Monday night may give them a huge confidence boost.

STAR MAN – Diego COSTA

Need I say anymore? The only issue with this pick is if he isn’t fit, but we expect Costa to be back and scoring goals aplenty.

EVESWA

Everton v Swansea

After an edgy start to the season, Everton have gained some momentum, largely thanks to a lot of players returning from injury. It will be tough for Swansea to get something from the game as they have struggled away from home this season.

STAR MAN – Romelu LUKAKU

After getting back to scoring ways in his previous game, Lukaku looks like he is returning to his good form, so we expect him to add to his tally.

HULSOU

Hull v Southampton

We expect Southampton to come up trumps in this top 10 clash; after all, they are second in the league table. It will be difficult for Hull to stop Soton’s attacking flair which has been immensely impressive so far.

STAR MAN – Graziano PELLE

This man is on fire! He has been providing goals and assists left, right and centre, and has hit the woodwork the most times out of any player this season, but we expect him to improve his luck at the KC.

LEIWBA

Leicester v West Brom

Perhaps not the most glittering fixture of the weekend, but both teams will look to pick up much needed points in an attempt to stave off relegation. We expect a score draw to be the outcome.

STAR MAN – Saido BERAHINO

The top scorer after Aguero and Costa, you cannot really look beyond Berahino who has been vital to West Brom’s season.

STKWHU

Stoke v West Ham

West Ham have been the most surprising team this season, sitting comfortably in fourth place, whereas Stoke have been rather inconsistent. But after beating the champions, there can surely only be one winner.

STAR MAN – Diafra SAKHO

You would have thought more than 2% of FPL players would pick someone who has scored six goals in six games. Sakho has been amazing, and there is no reason why he cannot make it seven… or more!

MCIMUN

Man City v Man Utd

The tie of the weekend, the Manchester derby, and we are all looking forward to it. But with Manchester City winning the last two derbies, we would expect them to continue this winning run, especially as they are at home.

STAR MAN – David SILVA

A fantastic individual goal against West Ham, he showed just how quickly he can produce a moment of magic, as well as providing assists.

AVLTOT

Aston Villa v Spurs

Aston Villa have been woeful, and as well as losing five in a row, they have not scored in over 400 minutes of football. Tottenham have not been too good either with one win in their last seven, so we expect a draw.

STAR MAN – Hugo LLORIS

The highest scoring goalkeeper overall so far, his shot-stopping talents should not go unnoticed, from such an exceptional athlete.

CRYSUN

Crystal Palace v Sunderland

Crystal Palace will see this as a fantastic opportunity to get the three points against a Sunderland side that have shipped ten goals in their last two games, and may well bring in changes.

STAR MAN – Brede HANGELAND

Brede should be looking to keep a clean sheet, but he can also pop up with the odd goal as he did in his previous game.
