Gameweek 14 – FPL Updates XI

With the weekends football gone in a flash, we don’t have to wait long for another dose and we now turn our attention to the midweek football and gamweek 14. But firstly, this is how FPL Updates XI ended gameweek 13:

FPL Updates XI

So again we score above average, being 40 points, but this still saw us fall down the ranks, now just inside the top 55,000. Firstly, in between the sticks, Green did nothing, bringing in zero points after he conceded 2 goals and picked up a yellow card. The defence infront of him didn’t do much better, scoring just 4 points from the three players, as Taylor picked up 2 of these, with Jagielka and Clyne scoring just a point each. Hopefully they can improve in the upcoming gameweeks!

In midfield, Di Maria picked up an injury and a solitary point. Sanchez and Fabregas both picked up 3 points ( 2 for playing & 1 for a clean sheet). Sigurdsson picked up ANOTHER assist, and scored 7 points.

Kane grabbed an assist, whilst Rooney brought home 16 points as the teams captain. Costa on the other hand picked up a booking and a suspension for these upcoming fixtures.

So the midweek changes:

Costa (OUT) -> Aguero (IN)

Di Maria (OUT) -> Downing (IN)

This week we took a point hit and a bit of a gamble. With Costa out we took the opportunity to bring in the inform Sergio Aguero. Also with Di Maria out injured we took the chance to cash in and bring in Downing. We weren’t too worried about removing Di Maria as we have Manchester United cover up top in the form of Wayne Rooney (although he wont feature this week due to injury).

Here is how the team lines up for gameweek 14:

So this week we have no choice but to start Green, as Krul is injured. Hopefully he can step up to the plate. In defence we start; Clyne, Taylor, Jagielka and Wsidom. Excluded Clyne all our defenders this week have fixtures in which they could do well and more importantly, could keep a clean sheet.

In the middle of the park we start the newbie Stuart Downing, alongside; Sanchez, Sigurdsson and Fabregas. Sanchez and Fabregas have somewhat tough fixtures against Southampton and Tottenham respectively. However Sigurdsson and Downing have a possible opportunity to impress against West Brom and QPR.

Finally up top we just start Kane and Aguero. We did have Rooney in the lineup with the captains armband right up until 18:45, but with this late news that he isn’t to feature he has been relegated to the subs bench The captains armband has been handed over the Sergio Aguero. Don’t let us down Sergio!
