Gameweek 17 Captaincy Analysis

Hello and welcome to our captaincy analysis. Gameweek 16 was a good one for many, especially those who captained Hazard. Before we focus on gameweek 17 let’s take a look at how we did last week.

1.  Diego Costa – 5 points

2. Romelu Lukaku – 5 points

Differential – Andy Carroll – 2 points

Gamble – Robin van Persie – 11 points

Now moving swiftly on let’s look through the best options for your captain’s armband this week.

1. Wayne Rooney (AVL)

The United captain scored on Sunday and looks to be finding some form. United have won their last 6 and come up against Aston Villa who to put it simply are a sinking ship who have won once since the start of September so the Red Devils should win easily at Villa park.

2. Eden Hazard (STK)

The Belgian was the main reason many FPL managers saw Green arrows last week. Some say that Hazard really doesn’t perform away from Stamford Bridge and the stats would support this. However with the form he and Chelsea are in he may well score big at Stoke on Monday night.

Differential – Wilfried Bony (HUL)

The Swansea front-man has scored 4 goals in his last 5 games and surely he will be on the score-sheet at the KC stadium on Saturday. Hull haven’t been great recently and although Swansea haven’t been winning games, Bony has still been firing so could be a good option this week.

Gamble – Alexis Sanchez (LIV)

The Arsenal winger has been nothing short of a revelation since his summer arrival from Barcelona and has been Arsenal’s stand out player this campaign. He and his Arsenal side travel to a Liverpool side who have been ‘struggling’ to say the least! Maybe Arsenal can capitalise on Liverpool’s shaky defence and score a few goals on Sunday and who would bet against Sanchez being amongst the goals at Anfield?

Thanks for reading our article and good luck this week!
