Gameweek 18 Captaincy Analysis

This festive season is jam packed with gameweeks, making fantasy football a bit unpredictable as so many players may be rested! Gameweek 18 captaincy choices may be a little tough due to this as we can sense that many big players will be rested on Friday, so choose wisely who you captain. Make sure you all choose your vice captains carefully as well! Firstly, this is how last weeks captaincy analysis picks did:

1. Wayne Rooney – 2 points

2. Eden Hazard – 7 points

Differentials – Wilfried Bony – 1 point

Gamble – Alexis Sanchez – 2 points

So a bit of a mixed bunch last week. This week, as its Christmas, we have treated you to an additional captaincy pick. Here they are:

1. Eden Hazard (WHU)

Hazard’s home record is phenomenal, and he usually scores the majority of his points at Stamford Bridge. He is in fantastic form, and is fixture proof. Although he picked up a knock, there is still a chance that he will be fit and if he is, he could score big points on Friday, making him a cracking choice for captaincy.

2. David Silva (WBA)

With many of Man City’s strikers injured, City were forced into a false 9, meaning that Silva played higher up the pitch than usual. I imagine that they will do the same this Friday, making Silva a viable choice for captaincy. He scored two last week, and wrapped up all three bonus points. Lets hope he does this again!

3. Olivier Giroud (QPR)

Giroud is in fantastic form at the moment, scoring 19 points in two games. He is a clinical finisher and a big differential for this week. If he scores, you could be flying high in the rankings! In my opinion, he is a better choice than Sanchez, who I think COULD be rested on Friday.

Differential – Romelu Lukaku (STK)

Although he is out of form, Lukaku is good at home. He has scored a few at home, and we think he could get another this week. If he does bag a goal, he’ll fly you high in the rankings!

Gamble – Angel Di Maria (NEW)

Di Maria is just returning from injury, and is a fantastic player for Man United. He will be assisting class strikers, and if he starts, could return a big points haul this Friday. As they say ‘He who dares, wins’.

I hope you all see green Christmas arrows! Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
