Gameweek 24 Preview

Many Premier League clubs will be taking a breather following another hectic transfer window, as we look forward to the fresh faces potentially making their debuts in game-week 24 of the Fantasy Premier League.

Spurs vs. Arsenal

Tottenham v Arsenal

The early kick-off sees the next instalment of the North London derby, and it is potentially the biggest one in a long while with both sides vying for a valuable three points in their quest for Champions League football.

STAR MAN – Mesut OZIL

The star man of the previous gameweek preview did not fail to deliver with his goal and assist, so we expect Ozil’s fine return from injury to continue.

Villa vs. Chelsea

Aston Villa v Chelsea

Aston Villa have not scored a league goal all year, and we are already into the second month, whilst Chelsea’s seemingly inevitable title march goes on as Mourinho will look to capitalise in this easy fixture.

STAR MAN – Juan CUADRADO

Chelsea’s brand new midfield signing is set to be put on show by his manager and we expect big things from his debut.

Leicester vs. Palace

Leicester City v Crystal Palace

A huge game at the bottom of the league table, both of these teams will be desperate for the win in this six-pointer as they come off the back of disappointing losses last weekend. The points may well be shared however.

STAR MAN – Dwight GAYLE

Gayle has been the unsung hero of Palace’s season so far and is their top-scorer, with many smart FPL players picking him up on the cheap.

City vs. Hull

Manchester City v Hull City

This is going to be a vital fixture for Pellegrini’s men if they want to get their title challenge back on track, and they will need to put in a convincing shift in order to show the league that they are serious contenders.

STAR MAN – Pablo ZABALETA

Zabaleta’s forward bursting runs were hugely missed in the last game whilst his defensive abilities should not be too tested by the lacklustre Tigers attack.

QPR vs. Southampton

QPR v Southampton

If Queens Park Rangers are to stay up this season, it looks like it will be as a result of their home form and they need to start picking up some points. With Harry Redknapp now gone, it will be tough for the R’s but they could take advantage of a Southampton side that have lost their last two.

STAR MAN – Niko KRANJCAR

A rare glimpse of goal-scoring action for a QPR midfielder, Krancjar needs to continue his form at Loftus Road.

Swansea vs. Sunderland

Swansea v Sunderland

Both of these teams will go into the game full of confidence following unexpected victories last weekend, but Sunderland are renowned for their defensive setup and playing for draws, so this may be the case.

STAR MAN – Patrick VAN AANHOLT

The Northern European young defender has been an impressive buy for Poyet at the back this campaign.

Everton vs. Liverpool

Everton v Liverpool

Another fantastic derby this weekend, with both of the Merseyside clubs coming off the back of impressive victories and clean sheets, but the Reds are the only Premier League side unbeaten in 2015.

STAR MAN – Philippe COUTINHO

The Brazilian playmaker has come into his own as of late, and has just signed a new contract at Liverpool, showing the extent of his recent form.

Burnley vs. WBA

Burnley v West Brom

Another crucial game down at the bottom of the league, both sides will once more go for the win, but Burnley have been looking good at home recently. However, we all know too well that Pulis’ sides are often tough to break down.

STAR MAN – Kieran TRIPPIER

This underrated full-back has been underwhelmed with praise this season and we should see more from him in this game.

Newcastle vs. Stoke

Newcastle v Stoke City

Both of these teams have almost cemented their mid-table status and will be looking to gain some more points in this fixture, with both coming off the back of really good wins in the last week, so it will be hard to pick a winner.

STAR MAN – Remy CABELLA

We saw glimpses of what this French attacker is capable of against Hull so let us hope that he adds to his stunning strike!

West Ham vs. United

West Ham v Manchester United

A top eight clash, Manchester United do need to sort out their away form and will look to improve on their current top four position in the league as they visit a West Ham side struggling for wins as of late.

STAR MAN – Angel DI MARIA

We should be putting a lot more faith in someone who is quite simply a world-class footballer playing in England.

Dean.
