Gameweek 33 Review

So gameweek 33 has flown by, and the dream team this week scored a total of 110 points. This week saw Chelsea more or less secure the title with a win over Manchester United and it also saw Leicester City pick up another win, moving them off the bottom of the table for the first time since November! Here is how the fantasy Premier League dream team looked:

Dreamteam

Goalkeeper

Once again Everton changed their penalty taker for the second time this season and this only came to benefit Tom Heaton as Ross Barkley saw his penalty saved by the Burnley keeper. Although Burnley went on to lose the fixture 1-0, the penalty save earned Tom 2 bonus points, along with 7 saves which in total gave him a massive 11 points for this week, securing him a place in the dream team.

Defence

Our first defender and first of two Leicester City players in this week’s dream team is Wes Morgan who managed to help his team off the bottom of the table this week. Grabbing a crucial assist, a clean sheet and two bonus points gave him a total of 11 points, which was a very common score in this week’s dream team.

Everton’s youngster John Stones has really taken a step up this season, and finds himself situated in the back four of this week’s dream team. With a clean sheet against Burnley, and 3 bonus points to show for it, he earned 9 points in total.

Chelsea more or less secured the title this week with a win over Manchetser United and Cesar Azpilicueta played a crucial part in this win helping his team to a clean sheet under heavy pressure from the Manchester team. 8 points was enough for Azpilicueta to find himself with a place in the dream team this week!

Our final defender in this week’s dream team is Mancester City’s Pablo Zabaleta who helped himself to 2 bonus points this week after Manchester City finally picked up some points to put the pressure back on their Manchester rivals. This along with the 4 points for the clean sheet gave him a total of 8 points.

Midfield

In the middle of the park we have 5 midfielders that all scored 11 points! To start the party off we have Leicester City’s Andy King, who helped his team to a third successive win with a goal of his own. This goal, three bonus points and a clean sheet helped him reach the total of 11 points.

West Brom managed to tame Crystal Palace this week as Palace had managed to put 4 past Sunderland the week before. However this wasn’t the case this week against West Brom, as they lost 0-2, with Chris Brunt grabbing both assists. This along with 3 bonus points game him a place in this week’s dream team with another total of 11 points.

Chris Brunt’s team mate James Morrison has also made the dream team this week as he scored an absolute beauty of a goal in their win over Crystal Palace. Again, another 11 pointer this week, as Morrison earned himself 3 bonus points too.

Jesus Navas managed to get a place in this week’s dream team with you guessed it… 11 points! Navas created both of Manchester City’s goals against West Ham this week as they went on to win 2-0. During the course of the game, Navas managed to create a total of 7 chances, which two of these were converted, meaning his point haul could have been a lot higher!

Our last midfielder is Eden Hazard, who once again helps Chelsea to another win! He scored the only goal in the game, although it could have been more as he did hit the bar on one occasion. Hazard who was our star man pick for gameweek 33 in our preview, hauled in another 11 points this week, and he has now scored 4 goals and assisted 2 in his last 5 games!

Strikers

This week we only have one striker in the dream team which is extremely unusual, as it isn’t Harry Kane or Sergio Aguero! In fact it is Mame Biram Diouf who managed to score Stoke City’s first goal in their 2-1 win over Southampton. This along with 2 bonus points game him a total of 8 points.
