Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 17 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to gameweek 17 and another FPL captaincy analysis! Before we get into it, lets take a look at how last week’s Fantasy Premier League picks performed:

1. Romelu Luaku – 9 points

2. Kevin De Bruyne – 1 point

3. Harry Kane – 2 points

Gamble – Olivier Giroud – 6 points

Differential – Riyad Mahrez – 13 points

Now onto this week’s picks!

1. Romelu Lukaku (LEI)

Think this is the fourth consecutive week Lukaku has been number one on the article, and I have to say I can’t not put him anywhere else. It’s 6 in 6 for the lad, he won’t be rested as Everton don’t have another striker, so he’s nailed on to start, and Martinez certainly won’t drop him! He’ll be eager to beat Vardy’s record, and he’s got a fantastic home record this year! If that wasn’t enough, he’s even more likely to continue his run as Robert Huth is out for the game! He’s got to bag one, surely?!

2. Riyad Mahrez (EVE)

I never like picking players who are playing against Everton, but this guy is magical. I think Baines will certainly struggle against him. He’s quick, agile, fantastic at scoring and creating, he’s a perfect player. He played magnificently against Chelsea, so can he keep his good form going?

3. Odion Ighalo (LIV)

Ighalo played absolutely brilliantly last weekend, and after watching the highlights, I was left dumbstruck as to how he didn’t score six. He hit the woodwork, shot cleared off the line, and wasted two really good chances. He completely tore Sunderland apart last week, and I think he’ll do it again this weekend. Ighalo has a decent home record this season, so I think he’ll do well against Liverpool, who have been quite poor at the back as of late.

Differential – Josh King (WBA) or Aleksander Mitrovic (AVL)

Bournemouth this year have really surprised me. They’ve been fantastic in the last few weeks, and I can’t see the run ending. They’ve shown that determination, confidence and passion that can win a game, no matter how weak a team is. King has been really important for Bournemouth, so I think if he plays, he can get a goal or two!

King however, has a problem with his hamstring, and is a doubt to play this weekend, so I’ve included Mitrovic in case King is out. I wouldn’t usually go for a Newcastle player, but they play Aston Villa this weekend, who have been shocking the last month. When he came on against Spurs, he played fantastic. He scored and assisted in the 20 minutes he was on. I think he will start this weekend over Cisse, and I think he’ll do well against a defensively poor Villa.

Gamble – Mesut Ozil (MCI)

You didn’t think I wasn’t going to include one of my favourite players did you? You’d have to date all the way back to September if you want to find the last time Ozil blanked! He’s in fantastic form, and he’s only a gamble as they play Man City, and Kompany could be returning this Monday.
