So the baron run continues as I’ve still yet to reclaim the type of success I was having at the start of the year. But with only seven fixtures, maybe this week will change all that.

We start with Hugo Lloris in goal. As far as defences go, Tottenham have the best in the league and Hugo Lloris comes in at a cheaper price than some other keepers in the big teams that might get clean sheets. Then the back three all have good fixtures as Sakho comes up against Newcastle, Kompany against Stoke and van Dijk against Aston Villa. I am a bit woried about Sakho as Newcastle have survival to fight for, but hopefully Sakho can keep up his goal scoring form.

As for the midfield, I’ve gone with Iwobi as my cheap enabler, as he has been consistently good for Arsenal who travel to Sunderland. Milner is my Liverpool coverage because I don’t think he’s at risk of rotation, Alli is still only 8.4m which is why he takes a spot in the midfield and then Mahrez is my final choice. With Leicester needing to win and Vardy suspended, I’m hoping Mahrez will be given a number 10 spot and allowed to roam and cause havoc. But this decision is a bit of a punt.

And then up front, teams that can score coming up against struggling competition. Kane and Aguero seem to be musts if the fixtures suggest goals so they both make it into the team, and Shane Long joins them. He’s been quietly impressive for Southampton and I hope he gets started. May swap him for Pelle if I hear any team news.

Now onto FPL Avids and his team:

Leicester will be looking to get a win against Swansea to close out the league. Without Vardy and an under performing Mahrez they’ll be looking for yet another clean sheet. I see a 1-0 on the cards. If Kante and the centre backs can mark Sigurdsson out of the game I see no real threat from the Swans, so in come Schmeichel, Fuchs and Morgan.

I’m writing this just after Liverpool destroyed Everton 4-0. At home to returning boss Benitez it’ll be an interesting encounter v Newcastle. Firmino got dragged off earlier so he’ll start. Milner played fantastically midweek so I can’t see him being rested. It’s worth noting Sakho and Milner only played 1 game this week after being rested at the weekend. There’s no reason for them to be rotated.

Against Villa means points. Mane and Tadic will surely be amongst them.

Finishing off my team, a trio of Spurs players will be looking to pile the pressure on Leicester. Kane, Alli and Vertonghen all look safe to start and it could easily be a repeat performance of the 4-0 demolishing against Stoke.

Note: Teams are subject to change. May the best FPL manager win!
