Challenge The Pundits

Well, the final gameweek of the season and I’m going for broke. I’ve deliberately gone with players who I feel have something to play for.

David De Gea comes in because Man Utd still have a Champions League place to play for. Sunderland have secured safety and this man gets involved in Sunderland attacks so in comes PVA. Arsenal could still snatch second place if Tottenham slip up so Bellerin makes the cut. Meanwhile Southampton could still take a Europa League place so in comes Van Dijk.

In midfield, I’ve gone with regular scorers playing in teams with something to play for. West Ham will want to keep that Europa League place for themselves so in comes PayetIwobi has gone off the boil a bit recently with the return of others, but for now he takes a place in the team. Tadic has been on fire near the end of this season and KDB and City will want Champions League football next season, not that Pellegrini will care.

And up front, we are going with Walcott who annihilated the scoreboard last season in gameweek 38 and comes up against Villa. Aguero features as he can always bag a massive gameweek score and Anthony Martial completes our team as he will be looking to get into the Euro 2016 squad.

Anyway, it’s been great writing this article and hope to see you all in the same place next year (and hopefully I’ll win more money)!

Now onto FPL Avids and his team:

Challenge The Pundits

This week I’m trying to pick players that actually have something to play for.

In goal I’m going for De Gea. Positioning for the European spots can all change so it’s vital United win against Bournemouth. I reckon Dave will be on top form. Across the back line I have Gabriel at home to Villa & a Watford duo, Ake and Cathcart, at home to Sunderland. Villa are down and out so I’m expecting a cleanie while I reckon Sunderland will take their foot off the gas knowing their survival is secure.

In midfield I’ve gone for Eriksen. May be a strange pick with Spurs off the back of consecutive defeats but Poch won’t want Spurs’ season to end on a bad run of form. Against already relegated Newcastle, Kane and co could have a field day. Chelsea v Leicester will be an entertaining game with Ranieri returning to the bridge. I want a piece of the action. Hazard with 4 goals in his last 4 is the obvious pick. De Bruyne is away to Swansea who upset West Ham last gameweek but I don’t see the same happening again with Man City wanting to give Pellegrini a sound farewell. Completing the midfield is Arsenal youngster Iwobi.

Up top I’ve gone for 3 in form men. Alexis, Deeney and Martial. All of them have appealing fixtures where they are more than capable of bagging a goal or two!

Note: Teams are subject to change. May the best FPL manager win!
