FA Cup Dream Team – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Unfortunately for us FPL managers, we had to wait a couple more days for the gameweek 21 Premier League fixtures. However, this paved the way for the next round of the FA Cup, which was the 3rd round but the 1st round where the Premier League teams are included. If you are wondering who is in form and scrolling through all the games individually is tiring, look no further than the FA Cup 3rd round dream team, which may give you some tips on who to bring into your Fantasy Premier League teams…

FA Cup Dreamteam

Goalkeeper

Willy Caballero  Caballero hasn’t made many appearances in the Premier League this season as Joe Hart has had a solid season. However, could his performance away at Norwich now give Manuel Pellegrini a conundrum?

Defenders

Cesar Azpilicueta – Azpilicueta had an easy fixture in the FA Cup this week. Chelsea faced League 1 side Scunthorpe. They eased to a 2-0 victory which saw ‘Dave’ get an assist and earn a clean sheet.

Micah Richards – Richards was another defender who had a seemingly ‘easy’ game. Aston Villa faced League 2 side Wycombe away from home but they could only manage a 1-1 draw. However, Richards found himself on the score sheet which earned him a place in this dream team.

Joel Ward – Ward hasn’t had much action this season for Crystal Palace but he may have proved a point to Pardew after his goal against Pardew’s former employers Southampton. It was a happy return for Pardew who saw the Eagles win 2-1.

Hector Bellerin – Another defender who failed to keep a clean sheet but at the other end of the pitch grabbed himself a few points. He found himself as the provider for 2 of Arsenal’s 3 goals as the Gunners won 3-1 against Sunderland.

Branislav Ivanovic – Ivanovic replicated Azpilicueta’s game against Scunthorpe which saw him keep a clean sheet and grab an assist for Costa’s goal which put Chelsea 1-0 up. However he got booked which meant the Serbian only got 8 points for his troubles.

Midfielders

James Morrison – Morrison almost single handedly saved West Brom’s hopes of progressing in the FA Cup. He firstly set up Berahino to put West Brom in the lead. But, after 2 quick fire Bristol City goals, he scored deep in to stoppage time to salvage a replay at Ashton Gate.

Jason Puncheon – Puncheon alongside his team mate Joel Ward also played a part in Palace’s win against Southampton. He provided assists for Ward and Wilfried Zaha to send the Eagles into the 4th round where they’ll play Stoke City.

Kevin Mirallas – Mirallas has been out of the spotlight this season and it has been rumoured he may be moving elsewhere in the January transfer window. Despite that, he pulled a good performance out of the bag against Dagenham and Redbridge which saw him score a goal.

Aaron Ramsey – Ramsey is starting to find his form he had a couple of years ago which saw him in the majority of FPL teams. He scored against Sunderland in a 3-1 win. This result means that they will play Burnley in the 4th round.

Striker

Sergio Aguero – Aguero finds himself the lone striker in this dream team as no strikers aside from him grabbed more than just a goal. He scored and set up a goal in a comfortable victory away at Norwich.
