Gameweek 25 has gone in a flash, with no Monday Night Football, as all 10 fixtures were spread across the weekend. So, without further ado, lets take a look at how the Fantasy Premier League Dream Team looked at the end of the weekend and where the FPL points were won and lost!
Goalkeeper
Petr Cech – Since signing for the Gunners, Cech has managed to keep 12 clean sheets in the 25 games he has played. Not a bad return at all and he has definately made the difference for Arsenal as they currently sit 3rd, not 4th! 4 saves, a clean sheet and 3 bonus points gave Cech a total of 10 points.
Defenders
Robert Huth – Leicester City are still sitting top of the table at the end of the weekend and a lot of it is to do with this man. Huth picked up two goals this weekend against Manchester City, which coupled with 3 bonus points put him on 16 FPL points and made him this week’s highest scoring player. Well done if you had him!
Maya Yoshida – The Saints defender is our first of 3 defenders with a massive 15 points, outscoring all the foward players! Yoshida scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over West Ham, meaning he also kept a clean sheet and a spot in the gameweek Dream Team.
Joleon Lescott – 15 points again for the Villa defender, yes an Aston Villa defender scored 15 FPL points! Even more worrying is that they scored two goals and kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 defeat of Norwich!
Kieran Trippier – Since moving from Burnley, Trippier has struggled for gametime, however he has broken into the starting XI a bit more often of late. This week, he started and also managed to grab his first goal of his Spurs career!
Seamus Coleman – A goal and a clean sheet for Seamus, in Everton’s 0-3 defeat of Stoke City at the Britannia gives him a place in this week’s Dream team. This occurrence was a lot more regular last season, but Coleman has been making more of an impact in recent weeks, maybe he’ll be a more solid pick for future weeks.
Midfielders
Riyad Mahrez – Another masterclass from the Algerian, but what’s new? Not many expected such a comfortable win against Manchester City, as Mahrez helped with a goal and an assist in their 1-3 demolition at the Etihad. 14 points and a place in the Dream Team.
Roberto Firmino – Many fantasy football managers brought the Liverpool striker into their teams this week, as he is currently listed as a midfielder, but is played a lot further up the pitch. This was evident this week with a goal and an assist in their 2-2 draw with Sunderland.
Tom Cleverley – Two brilliant fantasy football weeks for Tom, as he has scored 7 points and 12 points in the last two gameweeks. This has all come from 3 assists in the 2 fixtures, which could be signs that he is starting to find some good form in the Toffees’ side.
Gylfi Sigurdsson – The Icelandic playmaker is in the Dream Team for a second week running, with the same points haul, 10 points! In fact, it was an identical FPL performance; 1 goal and 3 bonus points! Owed by just 3.8% of managers, he could be a great differential, especially with his new found form.
Strikers
Romelu Lukaku – Big Rom was shipped out by many FPL managers last week as he had blanked in 4 games in a row and had picked up a knock. So, with that, he not only unexpectedly started the game, but he found the back of the net too! That coupled with 3 bonus points gave the Belgian a spot in the Dream Team and 9 solid points.
