Gameweek 3 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 3 is already upon us, although it only seems like yesterday we were all picking our gameweek 1 FPL squads! 2 games in, the private leagues are starting to take form and everyone is trying to get that top spot. Without further ado, here is our fantasy premier league preview of every game this week, along with our star man pick for each.

MUNNEW

 Manchester United vs Newcastle

Both teams haven’t had the best of starts. That might seem strange to say but despite United having 6 points, they havent been too impressive in their performances. Newcastle on the other hand are currently sitting close to the bottom, with a single point, so will definitely look to exploit the weaknesses of the Manchester team. Of course, it won’t be an easy ride with van Gaal wanting to make it 3 wins out of 3.

STAR MAN – Juan Mata

The Spaniard has been one of the bright sparks in a somewhat lacklustre Manchester United squad. The Red Devils have looked somewhat flat and have looked to Juan Mata for some creativity, which undoubtedly will play a part in this week’s early kick off.

CRYAVL

 Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa

Crystal Palace look to be one of the dark horses of the new season, whilst Aston Villa look to be missing that killer instinct that they had in the form of Benteke. This could be a tight affair, but we are expecting Palace to walk away with the 3 points this week.

STAR MAN – Yohan Cabaye

Cabaye was brilliant under Pardew whilst at Newcastle and has wasted no time at all fitting in with the Eagles. With bags of creativity he will always be involved in the majority of the offensive movements made by Crystal Palace.

LEITOT

 Leicetser City vs Tottenham

The tinker man has settled into life well at Leicester City and has resisted the temptation to tinker so far. Meanwhile, Spurs are struggling to find that momentum they had last season and with Leicester currently second in the table, we expect them to continue this hot form and brush the Londoners aside.

STAR MAN –  Shinji Okazaki

Leicester’s new signing has really impressed so far. His hard work means he has really been one of the bright sparks of the new season. Coming up against a tougher opponent this week, Leicester will be looking to their forward man as an outlet this week.

NORSTK

Norwich City vs Stoke City

Norwich have started the new campaign reasonably well as they currently have 3 points out of 6. Stoke on the other hand haven’t started so well, with 1 point over the two games. This fixture will be crucial to the start of both teams and could turn out to be quite a cagey affair.

STAR MAN – Nathan Redmond

Returning to the Premier League, Redmond saw himself starting on the bench for the first fixture. He made such an impression by grabbing a goal, that he started last week’s fixture and repeated the feat. Facing Stoke City this week, he will want to increase his tally further.

SUNSWA

 Sunderland vs Swansea City

Sitting bottom of the league after two games is probably not what Dick Advocatt had in mind when coming out of retirement and this week they will be desperate for a win against Swansea. Swansea on the other hand have a win and a draw in their first two games, and will look to grab another win here at Sunderland.

STAR MAN – Andre Ayew

Playing further forward, Andre Ayew is looking to be a brilliant purchase on fantasy football, but not just that, he is creating a lot of chances for the Swans and has grabbed goals in back to back games.

WHUBOU

 West Ham vs AFC Bournemouth

The Hammers host AFC Bournemouth this week. Although some may think it will be a straight forward win, it might just not be. The Cherries played Liverpool in the Monday night football of gameweek 2 and they look extremely capable, being very unlucky to come away with a loss, but may look to cause an upset this week against West Ham

STAR MAN – Dimitri Payet

West Ham’s new midfielder has started the season really well, and has settled into the flow of the Premier League as if he has always been here. With a goal and an assist in the first two games, we expect to see him increase this tally against Bournemouth.

WBACHE

West Brom vs Chelsea

West Brom have started somewhat slowly, with only one point under Tony Pulis this season, but it doesn’t get any easier for the Baggies as they host the reigning Premier League champions. That being said, Chelsea haven’t had the best of starts either, but they will be looking to pick up their first three points here.

STAR MAN – Gary Cahill

With some uncertainty surrounding the Chelsea centre backs, the England international will be looked at to show the leadership skills and real quality that he has.

EVEMCI

Everton vs Manchester City

Sitting top of the Premier League already, Manchester City look to be hunting down that Premier League title this season. However this week they do come up against an in form Everton side, which may make it a bit closer than some may think.

STAR MAN – Sergio Aguero

The Argentine is back and he looks as good as ever. If it weren’t for Begovic last week he could have had a first half hat-trick, need we say anymore?

WATSOU

Watford vs Southampton

The Premier League new boys host their second home game of the season this week against a Southampton side which may be in for an interesting season as they are participating in the Europa league. This being said, it should be relatively straight forward for the Saints to turn Watford over with all the talent they have, but then again, no game in the Premier League is a given.

STAR MAN – Graziano Pelle

The Italian striker has started this season in relatively good form, already finding the back of the net once, and he could be in for a field day against the Premier League new boys if the Saints turn up.

ARSLIV

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Probably the most anticipated game of the week sees Liverpool visit the Emirates on Monday night. Both teams have started the season in relatively good form and it will be a brilliant game for the neutrals, but could see a lot of finger nail biting for the Arsenal and Liverpool fans!

STAR MAN – Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal always look to this man as he provides them with a lot of attacking creativity, often providing them with crucial assists or even goals. With a tough game against Liverpool this week, there is no doubt he will once again be looked at to provide that bit of magic.
