Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 24 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Just as gameweek 23 is over, we are looking forward to gameweek 24, with just 2 days in between the fantasy football action! So who should you captain? Before we go on in this captaincy analysis, here’s how last week’s picks did:

1. Alexis Sanchez – 4 points
2. Harry Kane – 2 points
3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 2 points
Differential – Tom Davies – 2 points
Gamble – Diego Costa – 0 points

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Harry Kane (MID)

A rare blank for Harry Kane last week against Sunderland, who literally sat back the entire match to settle for the point, making it difficult for Spurs to break them down. Don’t forget that he’s scored 5 goals and assisted twice in 5 games, stats that clearly show that he has it in his locker! Spurs play Boro this weekend, who have only kept one away clean sheet in 10 GW’s. With this in mind, surely Kane has to get on the scoresheet.

2. Philippe Coutinho (HUL)

Liverpool’s poor run of form surely has to end with an away game to Hull. With the threat of losing a top 4 spot looking increasingly likely, Liverpool will want to bring their A game to the fixture, so they’ll need a big performance from this Brazilian playmaker. If he can recreate his fantastic relationship with Mane again, then there can be no stopping the pair on their day. With Liverpool’s poor form, he won’t be captained by many FPL managers, so definitely one to consider!

3. Romelu Lukaku (BOU)

Dubbed by many as “Blankaku”, he’s certainly been proving his critics wrong with his recent performances. With 2 goals and one assist in 3 games, as well as being unlucky against Palace after seeing one of his efforts hit the post, you definitely can’t say he’s not in form. Everton next play Bournemouth at home, who have struggled to keep many clean sheets with the loss of Ake. In addition to that, they have developed a habit of conceding 3 in one game (8 times in one season!). They’ve conceded 10 goals in 4 games, so Lukaku looks likely to get the points this weekend!

Differential – Gylfi Sigurdsson (MCI)

Since the arrival of Paul Clement, Swansea look a completely different team, and the Icelandic midfielder is certainly part of the reason why. Out of 28 goals, he’s been directly involved in 14 of them, and has 2 goals and one assist in his last two games. Swansea take on Man City this weekend, who have only kept 4 clean sheets all season, so can Sigurdsson continue his impressive form?

Gamble – Diego Costa (ARS)

Chelsea take on Arsenal this weekend at Stamford Bridge, and playing Arsenal is always a difficult task. Costa missed a penalty last GW against Liverpool, scoring a miserable 0 points, the first time he’s done that this season. Can Costa bounce back from this fixture with a goal against Arsenal?
