Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 25 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to our captaincy analysis for the upcoming gameweek 25. As always, before we go onto this week’s picks, here’s how last week’s FPL captaincy analysis did:

1. Harry Kane – 6 points
2. Philippe Coutinho – 2 points
3. Romelu Lukaku – 21 points
Differential – Gylfi Sigurdsson – 6 points
Gamble – Diego Costa – 8 points

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Alexis Sanchez (HUL)

Arsenal’s Chilean mercurial has had an impressive season and while his teammates have fallen apart, he has continued to shine for Arsene Wenger’s men. This week, the Gunners face a Hull side enjoying a revival under new boss Marco Silva and will be on a high after an impressive win over Liverpool. The stakes are high for Arsenal who now find themselves 12 points off top spot and really need a win to put to bed any concerns of sliding out of the top 4. Any revival is only really going to led by 1 man which is why Alexis Sanchez may well prove to be an inspired pick this week.

2. Romelu Lukaku (MID)

The Belgian was undoubtedly the star of gameweek 24 with 4 quality goals in Everton’s 6-3 rout of Bournemouth and this mega haul took the Toffees forward to the top of the scoring charts with 16 this term. This week Everton travel to the Riverside to face Middlesbrough, who find themselves increasingly more involved in a tasty fight to beat the drop. Given his form and the league position of his opponents, Lukaku seems to be an obvious choice but bear in mind the Boro defence has real quality within it so it is very unlikely you’ll see another 4 goal haul.

3. Diego Costa (BUR)

Costa is back in the Chelsea side after a bust up with manager Conte and he has hit the ground running with some excellent performances, even if he wasn’t rewarded in gameweek 24. This week, Burnley play host to Chelsea and this will be no easy game as the Clarets are incredible at home. Of Burnley’s 29 league points this season, 28 have been won at Turf Moor so I can’t envisage a Chelsea rout but given the great class they possess throughout, a win for the West Londoners is likely and it is probable that Costa will add to his 15 goals in the process.

Differential – Gabriel Jesus (BOU)

This week’s differential is an interesting one. Jesus was a big money signing in January and has wasted no time finding his feet with goals in his first 2 games; to displace Sergio Aguero exemplifies the class that the young man possesses. Although Bournemouth have been decent at home this season, confidence will be low after a hammering last week. Although many managers are bringing the teenager in, his ownership remains much lower than other more established hitters.

Gamble – Harry Kane (LIV)

The Spurs forward is hitting form right now (as he always does in the second half of the season) and his goals have established Tottenham’s position at the head of the chasing pack. Liverpool have had the worst January imaginable and find their season in danger of being practically over so it will be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp is able to put to rest the embarrassing slump at Anfield. Kane is a risk but his class may well see him through.
