Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 26 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 26 is fast approaching and it see’s the first blank for some teams of the season, with just 8 fixtures being played in total. So who should you captain in your FPL team? Read on and this captaincy analysis will help you decide who to pick!

Before we look at the upcoming gameweek, here’s how last week’s fantasy Premier League captaincy analysis did:

1. Alexis Sanchez – 15 points
2. Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
3. Diego Costa – 2 points
Differential – Gabriel Jesus – 1 point
Gamble – Harry Kane – 1 point

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Romelu Lukaku (SUN)

Lukaku, this season, has been much more consistent than he has in previous seasons. He’s the second top scorer in the league and with a home game against Sunderland, who have conceded 46 goals this season, he will surely add to his tally of 16 goals this season. He’s scored 6 goals in 3 home games in 2017 for Everton, even grabbing a hat-trick the last time the two teams faced each other. I think Lukaku should definitely be wanting double figure FPL points this week and it looks likely, especially considering Everton’s form!

2. Diego Costa (SWA)

Costa’s form in the last few weeks has been poor, admittedly, however a home game to Swansea is likely to see him get on the scoresheet at some point. They may be doing well Swansea, but they have conceded a few goals to the big teams they’ve played under Clement; 4 to Arsenal and 2 to Liverpool for example. Chelsea have been absolutely magnificent this season, and keeping Costa out will be almost impossible to do. Definitely one to consider, especially as Costa did score a brace the last time they met!

3. Harry Kane (STK)

Kane has been a bit to inconsistent for my liking this season. He scored a hat-trick in the cup last week, however has only scored 1 in the last 4 games in the league. However, this weekend, Spurs take on Stoke at home and as they’re unbeaten at White Hart Lane, you’d fancy Kane’s chances of getting on the scoresheet, especially if they want to keep that title chase on.

Differential – Manuel Lanzini (WAT)

With the departure of Payet, Lanzini has been playing quite well, scoring 2 and assisting 3 in 4 games for West Ham. This week, they play a Watford side who have kept 1 (!) clean sheet since GW11. Lanzini is only owned by 1.0% of FPL managers, so if he performs, it’ll be one hell of a captaincy choice!

Gamble – Gylfi Sigurdsson (CHE)

He’s been the main man at Swansea as he’s been involved in just under 50% of their goals this season. Swansea have been getting a few goals in the last few games, and look a completely new team under Clement so if Swansea do score at the weekend, you can almost guarantee that Siggy will be involved in some way, guaranteeing you some points if you gamble on him!
