Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 27 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 27 is fast approaching and it see’s a break between the FPL blank gameweeks. So, who should you captain in your FPL team? Read on and this captaincy analysis will help you decide who to pick!

Before we look at the upcoming gameweek, here’s how last week’s fantasy Premier League captaincy analysis did:

1. Romelu Lukaku – 6 points
2. Diego Costa – 6 points
3. Harry Kane – 20 points
Differential – Manuel Lanzini – 2 points
Gamble – Gylfi Sigurdsson – 5 points

Now onto this week’s captaincy selections:

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (BOU)

A blank week last week, due to his participation in the cup final, saw him score a brace against Southampton. After that performance, he has to be the number one choice. Man United take on Bournemouth at Old Trafford, a team who have been conceding a lot of goals left, right and centre since Ake left, including 6 at Everton. If Lukaku can get 4 past them, there’s no reason as to why Ibrahimovic can’t get at least 2 this weekend.

2. Sergio Aguero (SUN & STK)

Man City played Monaco in the Champions League and scored 5 against them, including a brace and an assist from Aguero. With a place in the starting XI cemented due to the injury of Jesus, Aguero now looks a decent player for FPL and with a game against Sunderland and Stoke, who have both been dreadful recently, surely Aguero has to get in on the act and get on the scoresheet against them. Due to him being on the bench for a while, his ownership dipped, so he could prove to be a “mini-differential” as he won’t be captained by as many managers compared to previous seasons.

3. Diego Costa (WHU)

A goal last week against Swansea took his overall points tally to 145 for the season. He’ll fancy his chances against West Ham, who have only kept 1 clean sheet in 9 GW’s. With Chelsea getting closer and closer to the title, Costa’s goals will become more important every GW, and he’ll be more determined to get more goals for his team. When he isn’t amongst the goals, he’s been assisting his team mates so you’ll be in safe hands if you choose to captain Diego!

Differential – Manolo Gabbiadini (WAT)

To shorten his name, Gabby has been fantastic since he moved down to Southampton, scoring 5 goals in 3 games. 1 of those goals was a genius finish at Wembley, proving that he can get the goals for you if you choose to captain him. He’s owned by 5.5%, making him a decent differential choice if he gets the goals, and will definitely send your rank souring if he repeats his antics at Wembley! Southampton play Watford, a team with an astonishing 1 clean sheet since GW10 (!) so a Saints goal is inevitable, and surely Gabby will be involved!

Gamble – Harry Kane (EVE)

With an incredible 2 hat-tricks in 3 games in all competitions, Kane has certainly been on fire, getting 20 points last GW against Stoke. This week, Spurs take on the difficult task of Everton, a team who are unbeaten in 9 games and have a brilliant 5 clean sheets in their last 7 league games, so Kane will find it difficult to repeat his recent feats. Because of this, he is definitely one that is a gamble to captain, but as they say, he who dares!
