Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 20 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 20 comes just less than 24 hours after gameweek 19, so its important that you get those changes in. Rotation will be about and it will be important to pick a solid captain.

Before we continue this captaincy analysis, here’s how last week’s picks did:

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 5 points
2. Diego Costa – 6 points
3. Alexis Sanchez – 4 points
Differential – Jermaine Defoe – 7 points
Gamble – Gylfi Sigurdsson – 2 points

Now onto this week’s captaincy analysis:

1. Alexis Sanchez (BOU)

Number one this week goes to the Chilean midfielder. He looked very lively last gameweek against Palace, however didn’t get as many points as FPL managers would have liked. This week, Arsenal take on Bournemouth, and Sanchez will look to get on the scoresheet against the Cherries. Rotation is a big worry for players this week with fixtures coming so soon, however with Sanchez being a big player for Arsenal, I can’t see him missing out on this one.

2. Adam Lallana (SUN)

Lallana this season is a new man under Jurgen Klopp; he looks like a fantastic player, scoring 7 and assisting 7 this season. That record could increase when Liverpool play Sunderland tomorrow, a team that conceded 4 to Burnley, and without their main man in goal Jordan Pickford, they look nervous at the back. Can Liverpool exploit their defence? He’s owned by 23% of FPL managers but he won’t be a big captaincy choice for this week, so he might prove to be a decent choice, especially considering the team they play being so poor at the back! Can he get on the scoresheet on Monday?

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (WHU)

Zlatan has been in fantastic form for several weeks in FPL now, getting 8 goals and 4 assists in 8 Premier League games, and he was unlucky not to get one last week when he was unfairly denied a goal. This week, United take on West Ham, a team who have leaked goals all season, and with the form Ibra is in, you’d like to think that he can get on the scoresheet against the Hammers. Maybe he’ll be getting more than one goal this week!

Differential – Matt Phillips (HUL)

West Brom have proven a lot of people wrong this season by finishing 2016 in 8th place, which is not bad for them in my opinion. A man who’s been involved in the goals for them is Matty Phillips, scoring 4 goals and 5 assists in 8 games. He’s only owned by 10%, but they play Hull this week at home, a team that have conceded the 2nd most amount of goals this season, so Phillips should be able to get in amongst the points this gameweek!

Gamble – Diego Costa (TOT)

He’s the top scorer of the league, and in my opinion, the best striker in the league at the minute. Not many teams look like they can keep him at bay in the new formation, however one that has the potential to do so is Tottenham. They’ve conceded the least amount of goals this season, and are unbeaten at home this season, one of only two teams to be so at this stage of the season. It’s a big gamble, but FPL is all about risks, and you need to take them in order to do well in the rankings!
