Gameweek 1 Preview

Hull vs. Leicester City

Hull City have done it again, having bounced back after just spending a single season down in the Championship, but this time around they doesn’t even have 15 first team starters to their disposal going into the season. Moreover with the with the departure of Diame to Newcastle and the number of injuries they have, their fate looks to be sealed even before the season kicks off. While on the other hand the Champions of England need no introduction. Even though they are without one of their star men, N’Golo Kante, an away game at the KC Stadium looks like a easy win for the defending Champions.

STAR MAN: Ahmed Musa (7.5m)

The young Nigerian has recently come into the limelight after bagging a brace against Barcelona, and will want to get his stay at the Home of the Champions off to a great start.

PREDICTION: Hull 0-2 Leicester City

Gameweek 1 Preview

Burnley vs. Swansea

Swansea had a pretty rough start to last season but somehow managed to end the season with a 12th place finish all courtesy to an Italian manager and his sturdy defence line. He will definitely want to take that into this game and season. While Burnley on the other hand have started to play a more counter attacking style of football and with Gray leading the line, there could be some trouble coming towards the Welsh side.

STAR MAN: Gylfi Sigurdsson (7.5m)

With Andre Ayew making way for a move to West Ham, this leaves one man who will undoubtedly step up to the plate. Sigurdsson has been a fantasy football gem at times and will look to start this season off well too.

PREDICTION: Burnley 0-2 Swansea

Gameweek 1 Preview

Crystal Palace vs. West Brom

Palace have strengthened their squad a lot in this summer transfer window and are looking really strong, but the addition of a proven striker at this point of time could bolster their chances for maybe a European spot finish this season. After a disappointing end to last season the Eagles will be definitely looking to bounce back after the relegation dogfight they were involved in. While the Baggies are coming into the season hoping to stay out of any relegation dog fight too, but Palace should have the upper hand at the Selhurst.

STAR MAN: Andros Townsend (6.5m)

Last season did end disappointingly for his team but he almost single handedly carried his team at the back end of last season and will be looking to make an impression with his new side.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-1 West Brom

Gameweek 1 Preview

Everton vs. Tottenham

Everton haven’t really made many changes to their squad, but the introduction of Stekelenburg gives them a decent option in goal along with the appointment of the Koeman who will be looking to bring Everton back into the European spots. Spurs proved they are a tough opposition after finishing in the top 3 last season, which was the very first time in their Premier League history and will be aiming for the title this season.

STAR MAN: Erik Lamela (7.0m)

He has had a very good pre-season and has finally settled into the Spurs side. He will be looking to make a strong statement and gain a permanent place for himself this season.

PREDICTION: Everton 1-2 Tottenham

Gameweek 1 Preview

Middlesbrough vs. Stoke City

After qualifying through the playoffs the Boro will be confident that they can continue that form into the Premier League campaign. The introduction of players like Valdes would provide a whole new energy level and give the team a big boost. The Potters having made just one introduction going into the season will be looking to finish in the European spots after underperforming last season. This might turn out to be a cagey game with both sides looking to make a statement.

STAR MAN: Ryan Shawcross (5.0m)

This game is going to be all about defending and hence Shawcross will be the focal point in the Stoke defence.

PREDICTION: Middlesbrough 0-0 Stoke City

Gameweek 1 Preview

Southampton vs. Watford

Watford’s first season in the Premier League after 9 years proved to be a big success, as they ended up with a comfortable 13th spot finish. The team looks quite promising under Wazaari after having displayed a free style of play & boasting a 3-5-2 in the pre-season friendlies. Meanwhile on the other hand is another new manager Claude Puel, who is known to promote the youth but even faces a challenge of leading the Saints in Europe. It may be an open game with each side having fair amount of chances to grab the 3 points.

STAR MAN: Dusan Tadic (7.5m)

The Serbian international racked up 12 assists last season even without a confirmed starting berth & definitely has the ability to single handedly win it for his side.

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-1 Watford

Gameweek 1 Preview

Manchester City vs. Sunderland

2 new managers, 2 different mission, but each with a point to prove. The game at the Etihad is definitely bound to be a fierce battle as Pep Guardiola’s all out attack policy goes head to head with David Moyes’ Premier League experience. Moyes is known to bring the best out of all his men from his time at Everton, but even City have the resources and come out victorious.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (13.0m)

The little Argentine is a man who needs no introduction & is definitely the man Pep has decided to plan his team around. So brace yourselves for “Agueroooooooooo”

PREDICTION: Manchester City 2-1 Sunderland

Gameweek 1 Preview

Bournemouth vs. Manchester United

There is something definitely great happening at the Theatre of Dreams this season, Jose, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan, Bailly and now maybe Pogba. The Red Devils will definitely want to put their last 3 mediocre seasons behind and start hunting for the title again, and in order to do so, an away game is a must win for them. On the other hand the Cherries were massively effective in their first ever Premier League season with a 16th place and even stunning some big names along the way.

STAR MAN: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11.5m)

Having scored his 1st Manchester United goal in the most fashionable way, Zlatan will definitely be determined to start his Premier League innings in the best of fashions.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester United

Gameweek 1 Preview

Arsenal vs. Liverpool

Every year it’s the same old story with Arsenal requiring a striker at the end of the transfer window. With the Gunners missing Koscielny,Giroud and Ozil their team is a bit weakened although they have been given a boost from the return of Alexis from injury, whereas Liverpool after their strong pre-season look sharp going into this campaign. But an away game at the start of the season and that too of this stature might prove to be a bit difficult to cope with.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.0m)

Man in form, well when is he not in form. Making an impact is his job and he surely will be the main man for the gunners in the absence of Ozil and Giroud.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool

FPL Gameweek 1 Preview

Chelsea vs. West Ham

With the signing of N’Golo Kante and Conte, Chelsea have a strong squad to choose from. With Chelsea underachieving last season they will be looking to start off their campaign on a high, whereas West Ham will be looking to continue playing their high tempo game which proved to be so successful last season. This might be an end to end game, but the Blues certainly have the edge playing at home.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.0m)

He will be hoping to forget his horrific 2015/16 BPL campaign and will look to make a fresh start under the new manager and find the form that had eluded him last season.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-0 West Ham
