FPL Gameweek 17 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

After a not so eventful gameweek 16 with a few big guns blanking, it has given us FPL Managers only 2 days in total to get over the joys and sorrows of the past gameweek & start tinkering again to get the best out of your team.

Best of luck & may your arrows be green!

Here is the FPL gameweek 17 preview:

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

One win in the last 9 games is the form Palace are in coming into this game while on the other hand, Chelsea have won each and every one of their last 10 and sit 6 points clear at the top of the table. With the form Conte’s men are in, a trip across the city shouldn’t be much of a test for them.

STAR MAN: Diego Costa (10.9m)

He is the league’s top scorer at the moment and it will definitely be hard to digest if he doesn’t bag at least 1.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 0-2 Chelsea

Middlesbrough vs Swansea

Boro haven’t been playing well in recent weeks while the Swans were also not at their very best against the Baggies. It seems like it will be a cagey affair with both sides battling it out for each and every point.

STAR MAN: Gylfi Sigurdsson (7.5m)

He has the fixtures, the form and definitely the ability to get a goal or two.

PREDICTION: Middlesbrough 1-2 Swansea City

Stoke vs Leicester

Both the sides are placed quite close to each other in the table and both have lacked that clinical nature in front of goal. It seems like it’ll be an open ended game with both sides being capable of edging it.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (9.6m)

His speed and running in behind defences could be something that could trouble the Potters defence.

PREDICTION: Stoke City 1-1 Leicester City

Sunderland vs Watford

The free flowing attack of both the Black Cats & the Hornets has yet again failed to deliver, resulting in both accumulating a 3rd defeat in the last 4 games. Both sides will be desperate to get any points on the board and this is the fixture each of them will be looking for. However, with Moyes’ men playing at home, they seem like they may just edge it.

STAR MAN: Jermain Defoe (7.8m)

The Englishman is a hot property having already scored 8 goals this season & will definitely have something to say in this fixture.

PREDICTION: Sunderland 3-1 Watford

West Ham vs Hull

Hull have been simply awful, having not won a single game in the last month and deservedly so, while on the other hand the Hammers are trying to build from scratch in light of a favourable run of fixtures, after a miserable start to the season. It seems to be an easy home win for the Hammers.

STAR MAN: Dimitri Payet (9.1m)

He is the centre of all the creativity in the Hammers side and might pop up with a goal against a leaky Hull defence.

PREDICTION: West Ham United 3-1 Hull City

West Brom vs Manchester United

The Baggies are flying and sit comfortably 7th in the table, determined for a top half finish, but this week they come up against a hungry United side that are willing to do anything for the win. With the firepower United possess, it could prove to be a bit tPP strong for the resilient Pulis defence.

STAR MAN: Paul Pogba (8.2m)

He seems to have found his feet in the Premier League having scored the 3rd of the season in the midweek fixtures & he could be key to breaking down the Baggies defence.

PREDICTION: West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Manchester United

Bournemouth vs Southampton

A win against champions Leicester lifted the Cherries to a respectable 10th place while on the other hand, the Saints were held to a draw against the Potters in the absence of their talisman Charlie Austin. This week, they will be looking to get some points on the board, to continue their surge for Europe after their disappointing exit this time around.

STAR MAN: Virgil van Dijk (5.7m)

The Dutchman delivered another match winning performance, and could once again prove to be a key figure, if the Saints do win.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Manchester City vs Arsenal

This is definitely one of the games of the weekend with 2 extremely attack minded sides going head to head. Both sides will look to push for another step forward in their hunt for the title, but with Pep still struggling with finding his feet in England, Arsenal might be in one of the best positions to capitalise.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.8m)

The Chilean is hot and firing and his movement could prove to be a menace for the makeshift City defence.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 1-3 Arsenal

Tottenham vs Burnley

Spurs have a habit of coming back strong after a defeat and they rightly did in the midweek fixtures. We ith the creativity and firepower Spurs are holding onto, we could see quite a similar result; an easy home win for Tottenham.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (11.3m)

After blanking against Hull, he will be determined to hammer a leaky Clarets defence.

PREDICTION: Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Burnley

Everton vs Liverpool

Games don’t get any bigger than this as two cross city rivals go head to head on a Monday night in one of the most well fought derbies, the Merseyside Derby. Both team will be pumped up with confidence and will be determined for a win, but keeping in mind the Toffees’ current form and the absence of Liverpool’s creator in chief Coutinho, this game could go either way.

STAR MAN: Sadio Mane (9.4m)

He has been lively in recent weeks and his movement has been something that has troubled each defence he has played against.

PREDICTION: Everton 2-2 Liverpool
