FPL Gameweek 2 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

After an action packed and eventful first weekend of this new season, it is time for us FPL Managers to get over the joys or sorrows of the gameweek gone by and concentrate on how to fulfil our ambitions for this season, because “it is a marathon & not a sprint”.

So here’s hoping this FPL Gameweek 2 Preview helps you in making the best decisions. Good luck!

MUNSOU

Manchester United vs. Southampton

The Red Devils appeared to be full of hot FPL prospects last week, with a few players able to return fantasy points in their own way & we are in no doubt that they will continue to deliver when the Saints visit Old Trafford. It seems to be an open and shut case with Mourinho’s side being the likeliest to grab the 3 points.

STAR MAN: Anthony Martial (9.5m)

The young Frenchman got the season off to a flying start with 2 assists and will definitely look to take that form back to Old Trafford for the Friday night kick off.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Southampton

STKMCI

Stoke City vs. Manchester City

Guardiola got off to a flying start with 3 points in the bag in the opening weekend, (though they didn’t do much to deserve it), but this time out he pays visit to one of the most difficult arenas in England, “The Bet365 Stadium”. Stoke on the other hand somehow scraped a draw last time out, but now they will definitely have to be on their toes to get something out of this game. It seems to be an open ended game with both sides having a chance to grab the win.

STAR MAN: Kevin De Bruyne (10.5m)

He looked out of his strides last weekend but this time around he will definitely have to step up to help his side gain the three points.

PREDICTION: Stoke City 1-1 Manchester City

BURLIV

Burnley vs. Liverpool

Burnley looked quite vulnerable in front of goal in the opening weekend and definitely need to start supplying Gray with potent chances if they have any dreams of staying up in the Premier League. On the other hand Klopp’s Liverpool side are looking livelier than ever and are scoring goals for fun having bagged 4 in their recent trip to the Emirates, and they will definitely be looking to continue that form as they travel to Turf Moor.

STAR MAN: Roberto Firmino (8.5m)

We simply have no idea how the Brazilian didn’t make it amongst the points at the Emirates, but what we do know is that he is due some and looked quite lively last week, so don’t be surprised if you see him knock 1 or maybe 2 in to single handedly sink Burnley.

PREDICTION: Burnley 0-3 Liverpool

TOTCRY

Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace

Pochettino’s side showed resilience, determination and the willingness to succeed and they even have the firepower to do so. They will definitely want to fight it out for their dream to play in Europe again next season while on the other hand, the Eagles definitely need a striker having been shy in front of goal against the Baggies. That coupled with the departure of Bolasie to Everton means this fixture seems to be all Spurs.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (11.0m)

Can anyone see him not scoring against a depleted Palace side….?

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-0 Crystal Palace

SWAHUL

Swansea vs. Hull City

Swansea City gave a strong performance against the Clarets, despite missing their departed captain and benched Sigurdsson, and they will like to carry this form in to the game vs Hull City who were definitely a surprise package, having given a flamboyant performance which broke down the defending Champions on the opening day. Expect it to be a game that promises goals with the result going either way.

STAR MAN: Gylfi Sigurdsson (7.5m)

He is indeed a fantasy football gem having been an impact sub against Burnley, and will definitely want to get on the scoresheet in his 1st start of the season.

PREDICTION: Swansea City 2-2 Hull City

WATCHE

Watford vs. Chelsea

Chelsea got off to a great start after an inspirational last minute comeback goal from Costa. The blues look strong going into this game and will be looking to add to the 3 points they picked up last week and make a statement in the Premier League title race. Watford on the other hand showed defensive resilience against Southampton but failed to bolster any kind of consistency when it came to goalscoring chances. Looks to be a one sided game by the looks of it.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.0m)

After a decent display against the Hammers last week he has said that he is raring to go the distance this season and looks determined to be involved in each and every game.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-2 Chelsea

WBAEVE

West Brom vs. Everton

A classic Pulis side display versus Palace earned the Baggies their first 3 points of the season. Everton on the other hand managed to control the wrath of the rampant Spurs team who have been on the rise since the arrival of Pochettino. Both teams showed good defensive stability last week and this might turn out to be a cagey affair but the Everton side under Koeman might just have a bit of an advantage over the Baggies.

STAR MAN: Leighton Baines (5.5m)

The often must have fantasy football left back has had injury problems recently but is now fit and looking good to be amongst the points as an attacking full back.

PREDICTION: West Brom 0-2 Everton

LEIARS

Leicester City vs. Arsenal

Both the top two teams last season got off to disappointing starts and will be looking to make amends with Arsenal and Arsene Wenger having a point to prove after their dismal defensive performance versus the Reds. The Gunners always tend to come back strong after defeats and there is no reason for them not to take 3 points after Leicester’s surprise defeat to a Hull team who were already deemed to be a relegated side.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.0m)

Always a hard worker but often lacked support in the game against Liverpool. This time around he will be looking to come good and contribute towards his side’s goals.

PREDICTION: Leicester City 1-3 Arsenal

SUNMID

Sunderland vs. Middlesbrough

Sunderland played well against a very strong City team and deserved at least a point out of the game. On the other hand Middlesbrough played very well to earn a hard fought for draw against a Stoke team who are aiming high this season. Both teams will be looking to make a statement as early in the league as possible as both of them could end up in the bottom teams of the table, close to relegation.

STAR MAN: Gaston Ramirez (5.5m)

The hero for Boro in the Championship last season started the season strongly having registered an assist in his first game and will be looking to add on to his tally.

PREDICTION: Sunderland 0-1 Middlesbrough

FPL Gameweek 2 Preview

West Ham vs. Bournemouth

West Ham having undergone a tough last minute loss last week will be looking to make amends against a seemingly very defensively weak Bournemouth side who were put to the sword by a strong United display. Both teams will be looking to bounce back and get the points on the board.

STAR MAN: Dimitri Payet (9.5m)

In form man during the Euros and after a decent rest, he’s ready to be amongst the fantasy points this season.

PREDICTION: West Ham 2-0 Bournemouth
