FPL Gameweek 22 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 21 turned out to be pretty high scoring with the majority of big hitters scoring big. This week, we bring you the preview for gameweek 22, which yet again throws up some interesting fixtures.

Liverpool vs Swansea

The Swans are struggling at the foot of the table and shipped in four goals last time out against Arsenal. Liverpool at Anfield will be a very tough proposition for the men from Wales to overcome and their defence will be put under pressure with Liverpool’s free flowing football and high line pressure. We can only see this game finishing one way.

STAR MAN: Roberto Firmino (8.4m)

With the absence of Mane he will be key for Liverpool’s attack and might be crucial in providing the breakthrough.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-1 Swansea

Bournemouth vs Watford

Neither of these teams are on a great run of form, Bournemouth arguably performing the better out of the two, and are separated by just two points in the table. This game might be crucial for both these teams as a win would help either of them fight for a spot in the top half of the table. A loss could bring them closer to the bottom and the situation might start to become desperate. Looks like a game that will be open with the Cherries having the home advantage.

STAR MAN: Ryan Fraser (4.8m)

A cheap midfield option and in form player who has earned his place in the starting line-up and looks to impress every time he plays.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 2-2 Watford

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Palace have failed to register a victory in any of their last seven Premier League games. Changing their manager has not yet changed their fortunes but we get the feeling an upset is on the cards against an unpredictable Everton side and this might just be the game to get back to winning ways for Allardyce and Palace.

STAR MAN: Christian Benteke (7.4m)

He has been the man that usually gets on the scoresheet for Palace and will fancy his chances at home.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-0 Everton

Middlesbrough vs West Ham

West Ham have made a great comeback to the season after winning four of their last six games. Boro on the other hand have won just the one game in their last five fixtures and will be looking to turn their fortunes around as they slowly get sucked into the relegation battle. Boro will put out a defensive side to counter the attacking threat that the Hammers possess and that might just make this game a slow starter.

STAR MAN: Manuel Lanzini (6.3m)

Grabbed a goal in his last game and will be at the centre of the West Ham attack.

PREDICTION: Middlesbrough 1-2 West Ham

Stoke vs Manchester United

Stoke are gaining momentum with two wins in a row and are now in the top half of the table for only the second time this season. They will be looking to stay there and carry forward this momentum into the next game against the Red Devils who themselves have been great in recent times. The Stoke defence will make it difficult for the men from Manchester who will have to bring out their best to break them down.

STAR MAN: Paul Pogba (8.5m)

Has told that he wants to be involved in more goal scoring action and this might just be the game for a Pog’goal’.

PREDICTION: Stoke 0-1 Manchester United

West Brom vs Sunderland

West Brom are performing above expectations and currently sit eighth in the table. For Sunderland this is a must win game and they have to get points on the board to sustain any sort of survival challenge. It will be a defensive display from the Baggies and that will make it really difficult for the Black Cats to open them up.

STAR MAN: Jermain Defoe (7.8m)

We all know how much he loves scoring in January and he will look to cease this opportunity to extend his tally.

PREDICTION: West Brom 1-2 Sunderland

Manchester City vs Tottenham

City are on the back of an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Toffees whereas Spurs on the other hand are in top form and were victorious last time out at home against the Baggies. both teams will have to fight it out for a victory though and Pep, having said that his team is out of the title race now, will be looking to play for pride and should be looking to inspire his team to perform well.

STAR MAN: Christian Eriksen (8.7m)

The Dane has been in fine form and is slowly turning out to be a crucial player in creating the chances for his team.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 2-2 Tottenham

Southampton vs Leicester

Southampton are on the back of a loss to Burnley and have lost four on the spin now. Leicester have also been in a poor run of form with just one win in six. Both these teams will be looking for a vital win to get them back in form and hence might make this a fairly open affair.

STAR MAN: Nathan Redmond (5.8m)

The only player that seems to be in form for this team will look to get his team off to a good start.

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-1 Leicester

Arsenal vs Burnley

Arsenal will be playing this weekend on the back of a thumping 4-0 victory over Swansea and the return of Mustafi has certainly got them back to winning ways and sured up their defence. A home game against Burnley should be an easy ask for the Gunners who might just walk through to victory.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.9m)

Is due a big haul and will have a great opportunity to grab exactly that with Burnley at the Emirates.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 3-0 Burnley

Chelsea vs Hull

Certainly seems like a walk in the park for the Blues who won their last game, even in the absence of Costa. Hull did win their first game under new manager Marco Silva but an away victory to Chelsea seems to be too much to ask for. Hull will try and make it very difficult for the Blues but Chelsea will find the breakthrough at some point or another.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.4m)

He has been kept quiet in recent weeks but the potential absence of Costa may push him to the top of the attack and will be a huge threat to that Hull defence.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-0 Hull
