FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 17 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

We have another midweek gameweek and we are coming to the point where the fixtures start coming thick and fast. That said, before we look at this week’s fantasy captaincy picks, here’s how last week’s FPL Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Eden Hazard – 2 points
2. Mohamed Salah – 11 points
3. Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
Differential – Alexis Sanchez – 5 points
Gamble – Harry Kane – 12 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Harry Kane (BHA)

Was GW15 the week that told us that Harry Kane is back?! He scored twice, but certainly could have scored more, and the Stoke defence struggled to stop him all game. This week, Tottenham play Brighton at home, a team who have been struggling at the back this season and in the last two weeks have conceded 6 goals. If Kane continues this form from last week, he could add to his goal tally and try to catch up to Mo Salah!

2. Eden Hazard (HUD)

Hazard surprised everyone when he blanked against an out-of-form West Ham, who recently conceded 4 to Everton. However, this shouldn’t take away from the fact that Hazard has 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 starts for Chelsea. An away game to Huddersfield might be tough, but a pacey, agile winger like Hazard has the potential to tear the Huddersfield defence apart. It all depends on whether Hazard will turn up!

3. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (NEW)

Calvert-Lewin has been one of Everton’s best players this season in my opinion, grabbing 6 assists, all of which have seemingly been for Rooney. However, DCL plays in a more advanced role, and with Everton playing Newcastle this week, who have kept 1 clean sheet in their last 11 games, and the fact that Everton have been in decent form, DCL could expose the fragile Newcastle defence. He’s only £5.2m too, and could be a fantastic cheap option for FPL managers.

Differential –Riyad Mahrez (SOU)

With the arrival of Claude Puel, Leicester have now started to be in amongst the goals, and Mahrez is heavily involved in the majority of their goals. In the last 3 games, Mahrez has scored 2 goals and assisted once, and is only owned by 5% of FPL managers. He’s priced at £8.0m, and could be a massive differential for a potential Pogba replacement! This week, Leicester take on the Saints, which is a chance for Mahrez to extend his good run!

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (SWA)

Man City’s win against Man United could prove to be the most important win of the season. They extend their lead to 11 points and lets be honest, can anyone stop them while they’re in this scintillating form? The scorers in the derby were unusual, with no assists for either and both coming from 6 yards out. Aguero didn’t feature, but it’s impossible to say whether he’ll start this week because as we all know that with Pep, predictability isn’t a thing. This is a massive gamble because if he’s benched, he could come on for a 1 point cameo!
