FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 22 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 22 see’s us have a double gameweek, with Spurs and West Ham playing twice. With that said, most captaincy selections will be from those teams, but before we look at them, here’s how last gameweek’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Mohamed Salah – 14 points
2. Raheem Sterling – 1 point
3. Eden Hazard – 0 points
Differential – Alexis Sanchez – 5 points
Gamble – Romelu Lukaku – 1 point

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Harry Kane (SWA & WHU)

Back-to-back hat-tricks in 2 games. A double gameweek this week. You’d be a fool not to captain Kane this week! Spurs take on West Ham and Swansea this week, two of the worst teams defensively this season, and while the latter have a new manager, he’ll struggle to stop Kane who will be trying to break the record for 3 consecutive hat-trick, which is possible considering the form Kane has been in! He’s still the top scorer in the league with 18 goals in 19 games, a fantastic record which he’ll look to increase! If you haven’t got Kane, and you’re struggling to fit him in, you may want to consider these other options…

2. Raheem Sterling (WAT)

Man City dropped points against Palace for the first time since August against Everton, and there’s a huge correlation between the two games. Sterling hasn’t started in 3 games this season, and these are two games he didn’t start in. It’s no coincidence that when Sterling doesn’t start, City struggle to score, and if Pep realises this, he’ll start Sterling this week and he’ll probably get on the score sheet as City take on a Watford side who conceded two to Swansea, and have only kept two clean sheets since GW5.

3. Jamie Vardy (HUD)

Vardy keeps up his fantastic record of scoring against the “Top 6” with another goal against Liverpool, which takes his goal scoring tally up to 9 for the season, and this week, Leicester take on Huddersfield at home. Huddersfield keep a few clean sheets, however when they concede, they like to concede a hefty amount in the one game, like against Bournemouth (4), Spurs (4) and Arsenal (5). If Leicester can perform well, they could score a huge amount of goals and Vardy could be in the thick of them if he can replicate his form from the Top 6 against other teams!

Differential – Marko Arnautovic (WBA & TOT)

Another player with a double gameweek is Arnautovic, and he looks a rejuvenated man under David Moyes! He’s playing in a more advanced role as striker and he’s certainly upped his performances. Prior to Moyes coming in, he scored 0 goals and now, he’s scored 5 goals in 5 games and could increase that tally in the double gameweek as West Ham play West Brom and Spurs. He’s only owned by 4% too and could prove to be a huge differential should he continue his form!

Gamble – Mohamed Salah (BUR)

It looks odd that Salah is even considered a gamble for this week. However, in the previous game, despite scoring 2 goals (and probably should have scored about 4 or 5), he came off with an injury, and Klopp has admitted that he could miss the Burnley game due to the knock. If he plays through the injury, he may not play to the best of his abilities. To add to this, Liverpool take on a Burnley side who have Tarkowski back in their side, and it could mean that Salah may not score anyway. It’s a massive gamble, one that I personally wouldn’t take, especially with there being a double gameweek for Kane/Arnautovic.
