FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 28 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The Premier League break is nearly over and gameweek 28 is nearly upon us. That said, we are back with our FPL Captaincy Analysis, but before we look at this week’s picks, here’s how we did last week:

1. Alexis Sanchez – 2 points
2. Segio Aguero – 21 points
3. Mohamed Salah – 13 points
Differential – Theo Walcott – 1 point
Gamble – Harry Kane – 6 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Harry Kane (CRY)

Unlike his rivals, Kane seemingly had a nice rest during the cup weekend, playing only 15 minutes, but still scored a penalty for Spurs against Rochdale. In the league, he’s scored 5 goals in 5 games, proving that he’s in decent form going into their match against Crystal Palace. Palace lost 3-1 last time out to Everton. Their defence in this game was very poor and looked disorganised, and with them playing a much better team in Spurs, it could see Kane exploiting that weak defence of theirs and possibly extending his goal tally from the past 5/6 games.

2. Mohamed Salah (WHU)

Every week, every game, he scores. He’s blanked twice since gameweek 8, scored 22 goals and assisting 9, influencing a goal every 66 minutes, which is phenomenal. He’s got a fantastic relationship with Firmino at the minute, and every time he has hold of the ball, he looks dangerous and threatening. No matter who they play, Salah looks completely unphased and has proved this season that he can take on any team. With that being said, they do play West Ham this week, who have only kept one clean sheet since gameweek 19, and have only kept 2 away clean sheets all season!

3. Jamie Vardy (STK)

It’s gone under the radar, however Vardy has scored in his last 4 games now, his most impressive run since his record breaking 11 games in a row in the 2015/16 season. This week they play Stoke, who have been defensively woeful all season, keeping only 3 clean sheets since gameweek 3, a shocking statistic and one that probably won’t improve after their game against Leicester considering their goal scoring form. They’ve scored a goal in every game bar one since gameweek 13!

Differential – Gylfi Sigurdsson (WAT)

It’s no coincidence that when Sigurdsson and Rooney play, Everton win the majority of their games. However, Allardyce disagrees, claiming that the pair can’t play together, which is ludicrous. He has a goal and an assist in his past few games, and looks much sharper now than he has done all season, being hugely instrumental in Everton’s goals against Palace. He’s only owned by 2% of FPL players, and could prove to be a great differential considering how poor Watford have been in previous weeks.

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (ARS)

It’s not often a striker who scored 4 in the last game is considered a gamble the next, however considering Man City play Arsenal this week, it may be beneficial to captain an alternative player. City looked really poor when they attacked against Wigan, missing huge chances constantly throughout the game, and Aguero was no exception. Arsenal have a great record at the Emirates, and this fixture may prove to be harder than people believe…
