Gameweek 16 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The usual gap between gameweeks is among us after being treated to midweek games last week. This week, however, some teams have the small matter of European ties to think about midweek whilst others have the week to rest. Here’s how we reckon the gameweek 16 fixtures may pan out.

West Ham vs Chelsea

West Ham do have a new manager in Moyes but he still is yet to find the right formula for this West Ham team to succeed. On the other hand we have the Blues, who have been great in recent games and will be looking to put away the Hammers. Could be a feisty one considering it is a London derby so should be a good watch.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.8 m)

The Belgian has been on fire and is certainly one of the key players in this side.

PREDICTION: West Ham 0-2 Chelsea

Burnley vs Watford

Burnley have been playing some of the best football in their Premier League history and find themselves as high as 7th in the table, level on points with Spurs. Watford on the other hand haven’t done too bad themselves either as they find themselves in 8th place with just three points less. This should make up for a lively affair.

STAR MAN: Nick Pope (4.7m)

You just have a feeling that it might come down to the last man in-between the sticks in this game.

PREDICTION: Burnley 0-0 Watford

Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth

The Eagles haven’t lost a single game in their last four fixtures, winning one and drawing 3 of them. Bournemouth on the other hand have had a little slump in form and will be looking to make things better before they are sucked deeper into trouble. Palace will go all guns blazing in order to secure a victory in this fixture.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.9m)

The pacey winger has sometimes made the difference for the Eagles this season and there is no reason for him not to be at it again in this game.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-1 Bournemouth

Huddersfield vs Brighton

Huddersfield began the season with a lot of grit and vigour but have faded since then and have defended quite poorly. Brighton are in a phase of bad form too, having won just one game in their last five, and they will be looking to turn the tables against a poor Huddersfield side. Home advantage will be key and might just give Huddersfiel the upper hand in this fixture.

STAR MAN: Aaron Mooy (5.4m)

The midfield maestro in the midst of the Huddersfield team is capable of delivering high octane performances.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

Tottenham vs Stoke

Having won just one game and losing two of their last five games, Spurs have been in their worst form of the season and that has seen them slip to 6th place in the table. Stoke City on the other hand will be looking to get some momentum in their campaign as they have failed to do so thus far this season.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.8m)

He is gonna be hungry for the goals in this fixture.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-0 Stoke

Swansea vs West Brom

Swansea have now hit rock bottom and find themselves in 20th place with almost no attacking power to boot. The baggies have also been in bad form but now have a new manager in Alan Pardew who might be crucial for their hopes of survival this season. With Swansea’s poor form, it seems like they might lose this game as well.

STAR MAN: Jay Rodriguez (5.6m)

The striker has not been on the scoresheet for a while now and will be looking to put things right this weekend.

PREDICTION: Swansea 0-1 West Brom

Newcastle vs Leicester

Newcastle, after a decent start to the season, have succumbed to pressure and fallen to 15th place in the table. They haven’t won a single game since gameweek 9 and will be desperate to get those three points this time around at home. Leicester will be determined to continue their run of form after winning both their previous two fixtures.

STAR MAN: Matt Ritchie (5.7m)

He has been crucial for Newcastle this season and will be important if they were to win this fixture.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 2-1 Leicester

Southampton vs Arsenal

The Saints have won just one of their last five games but have shown promising signs in attack and can always be a threat. The Gunners don’t have such a great away record this season and a game at St.Mary’s could prove to be a task for them. For this visit, they go into the game with some great attacking form and they will be looking to turn their luck around after last week’s defeat at the hands of the Red Devils.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.8m)

This just seems to be the game where this Chilean explodes.

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-3 Arsenal

Liverpool vs Everton

What a cracker of a contest we have here with both teams going into this fixture with a win under their belt in the last game. Liverpool have been on and off in form this season but still find themselves in the Champions League spots. Everton on the other hand are beginning their resurgence under Allardyce and Klopp’s men will find it difficult to break down Big Sam’s defence.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (9.9m)

There seems to be no stopping this man and he might just be the difference between the two sides in this game.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 1-0 Everton

Manchester United vs Manchester City

What a game to end this gameweek with the Manchester Derby. A win for the Red Devils could lower the gap between them and their rivals to just 5 points and a loss will widen the gap to 11 points. It is a make or break game for United and the rest of the chasing pack and everything will be at stake on this occasion.

STAR MAN: Anthony Martial (8.0m)

He has been in great form of late and will be looking to get on the scoresheet this time around.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 1-0 Manchester City
