Gameweek 20 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

As Christmas is finally here, these are the boxing day fixtures for 2017. Managers will be wary of players being tired or injury woes and therefore might be making certain precautionary changes/rotations before the big games that await them in the upcoming gameweeks.

Here is the FPL Updates Gameweek 20 FPL Preview:

Tottenham vs Southampton

Spurs are finally back to what they do best, having overcome a sturdy Clarets side by 3 goals to the good. Southampton on the other hand continue their disappointing run of form having drawn at home against the Terriers. Spurs will be looking to rack up some points after their recent slump and an out of form Saints side shouldn’t be one stopping them.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.8m)

He is more than capable to score yet another HAT-TRICK.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-0 Southampton

Bournemouth vs West Ham

Both the Cherries and Hammers come into this midweek fixture on the back of disappointing results at the weekend. The Hammers come into this game after a decent run in hard fixtures was ended brutally by Newcastle while the Cherries faced the wrath of a ruthless City side. Both these sides will be looking to bounce back and this could just bring out the best of both.

STAR MAN: Marko Arnautovic (6.8m)

The Austrian has 3 goals in the last 4, and will be one to look out for against a relatively leaky Cherries defence.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-2 West Ham

Chelsea vs Brighton

The Blues come into fixture on the back of a disappointing result away at Goodison Park. Conte & his boys will be looking to make amends & will be setting out for nothing less than the 3 points.

STAR MAN: Alvaro Morata (10.6m)

Having had Christmas off, the Spaniard will be all fresh & ready to hit the back of the net.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-0 Brighton

Huddersfield vs Stoke

Position wise, Huddersfield could now consider themselves safe from the relegation zone but are far from safe at the moment with just a 6 point gap separating them from the drop zone. A game against Stoke could therefore be considered a potential 6 pointer here as a win could propel them into the top 10 and a loss will bring them closer to the drop. Stoke haven’t travelled well so far this season and Huddersfield will certainly be looking to take advantage of this situation.

STAR MAN: Aaron Mooy (5.4m)

Often popping up with goals when his side needs him and he might just be an important player for Huddersfield in this fixture.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-0 Stoke

Manchester United vs Burnley

United welcome a defensively tight Burnley side at Old Trafford this gameweek. Burnley have had an exceptional season and will be going to the Theatre of Dreams with nothing to lose, but with United’s noisy neighbours looking in no mood to give up that big lead at top of the table, Jose and his boys just can’t afford to not bag the 3 points.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.3m)

Seeing United’s upcoming run of fixtures, he definitely seems one to own.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Burnley

Watford vs Leicester

Both the Foxes & the Hornets have had a great first half of the season and are playing some great football. Both sides are on a good run as well, and we can expect nothing but end to end stuff.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.6m)

Post Christmas party…!?

PREDICTION: Watford 2-3 Leicester

West Brom vs Everton

West Brom are still in trouble after failing to keep a clean sheet again last gameweek whereas the Toffees have been given a lift in spirits after the arrival of Big Sam who has helped them keep four clean sheets in their last six fixtures. Seems like Everton can capitalise again here against a poor West Brom side.

STAR MAN: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (5.4m)

He has been really great up front for Everton and will be looking to get on the scoresheet to prove his worth again.

PREDICTION: West Brom 0-2 Everton

Liverpool vs Swansea

Liverpool will be looking to forget their collapse last gameweek at the Emirates and go out all guns blazing in this game. Swansea have never looked like turning their season around and a Liverpool win in this fixture almost seems inevitable at the moment.

STAR MAN: Sadio Mane (9.3m)

After missing out in front of goal last gameweek, he will be looking to make amends and prove his worth again.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-0 Swansea

Newcastle vs Manchester City

After finally winning a game away from home last gameweek, there must be some confidence in the Newcastle dressing room before going into this big game against the Citizens. City as usual thrashed their opponents last time around after netting four past Bournemouth. There seems to be no stopping them.

STAR MAN: Kevin De Bruyne (10.3m)

Arguably the best player of the season so far for the Citizens and always a threat against such defences with his skill.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 0-2 Manchester City

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

The Gunners would’ve felt hard done by after an error in front of goal from their veteran goalkeeper Cech cost them a win against rivals Liverpool at home. Palace will be gutted to have squandered a lead away at the Liberty stadium against one of their relegation rivals Swansea. The Gunners will certainly be in the mood to get all three points and improve their away record in the league.

STAR MAN: Alexandre Lacazette (10.4m)

Assisted in his previous game and played well with no goal, he will be looking to change that fact here.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal
