Gameweek 21 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 21 is upon us with just nine fixtures as Spurs and West Ham miss out this time around. How to play it for those FPL managers with players from either of those teams is key given the fact that they have a double gameweek next time around.

Here’s our analysis of this week’s fixtures.

Bournemouth vs Everton

The Cherries have not been in the best of form in recent gameweeks and that is evident in their inability to pick up a win since gameweek 12. They have just two points from their last two fixtures and need to turn their form around soon. Everton have improved drastically and will surely be looking to stay in the top half of the table.

STAR MAN: Yannick Bolasie (6.4m)

What a man to have back in their team. He will be looking to get right back into the action.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

Chelsea vs Stoke

Chelsea have been in good form recently and have picked up important wins which have brought them to within just a point of Manchester United. Stoke City do seem to be gaining a bit of momentum with a win and a draw in their previous two games but an away win at the Bridge seems highly unlikely.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.8m)

The Belgian will be looking to get into the thick of the action and contribute more for his side.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-0 Stoke

Huddersfield vs Burnley

Huddersfield have played really well up until now and have lost just one of their last five games but they are up against a Burnley side who have had such an amazing run this season, finding themselves in 7th place. They will be looking to bounce back after failing to win in their previous two fixtures.

STAR MAN: Tom Ince (5.5m)

After finally getting his first goal last gameweek he will be looking to push on from here.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-1 Burnley

Liverpool vs Leicester

Klopp’s boys are scoring goals for fun this season, having averaged 4 a game over the last 3 fixtures. The Foxes on the other hand have had a minor slump in the last 3 & they will surely be poised to hit back. This fixture seems to be an end to end one with loads of goals in it.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (10.1m)

15 goals & 7 assists in the first 20 league games. Enough said.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 4-2 Leicester

Newcastle vs Brighton

The Magpies come into this fixture after putting up a tough fight against the Citizens at St. James’ Park & are up against the Seagulls who have had a decent defensive record on their travels this season. This fixture is one where we could see Rafa’s boys having a go at Brighton and perhaps coming out on top.

STAR MAN: Dwight Gayle (6.1m)

If he starts, his pace could be something that could trouble Hughton’s defence.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 1-0 Brighton

Watford vs Swansea

The Hornets will definitely be high on confidence after a convincing performance against a strong Leicester side on Boxing Day. With the home crowd behind them, Watford will definitely like to have a go at this relatively fragile Swans defence & will try to make things difficult for the new man in charge, Carlos Carvalhal.

STAR MAN: Richarlison (6.5m)

The Brazilian has delivered in just 2 of the last 7 league fixtures & he couldn’t ask for an easier fixture than this to get back on track.

PREDICTION: Watford 3-1 Swansea

Manchester United vs Southampton

Mourinho & his boys have picked up disappointing results in each of the last 2 fixtures, having thrown away points against 2 mid-table sides. The Reds will be looking to make amends and a game at Old Trafford against a struggling Saints side could be exactly what they need.

STAR MAN: Jesse Lingard (6.1m)

6 goals & 2 assists in the last 7 games. Poor man’s Paul Scholes…!? xD

PREDICTION: Manchester United 3-0 Southampton

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City

The Citizens seem to be in touching distance of the title, having secured a 15 point lead at the top of the pile following the gameweek 20 fixtures. Now it’s just down to sitting, watching & complementing City’s performances this season.

STAR MAN: Raheem Sterling (8.8m)

He is indeed one of the most in-form players in the league at the moment with 10+ points in each of the last 3 games, and is definitely a MUST OWN.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 0-3 Manchester City

West Brom vs Arsenal

West Brom have been average, even after the arrival of Alan Pardew, and still haven’t won a game since gameweek two which is really disappointing for the fans and has created a sense of unrest amongst the home crowd. Arsenal will feel that they could have been better away from home this season and now have to win to keep up in the race for the top 4.

STAR MAN: Mesut Ozil (9.3m)

Was really dissapointed to have blanked in the last game and will be looking to make up for his missed chances.

PREDICTION: West Brom 0-2 Arsenal
