Gameweek 23 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 23 has finally arrived after a week’s break from PL action. Most of your squads might need some help with the injuries that the players might have sustained through this busy period so here’s our preview of the gameweek ahead, the star men for the week and how the games might pan out.

Chelsea vs Leicester

The Blues have been playing very well and managed to get a draw at the Emirates after trailing. They showed their grit and confidence in that game. Leicester on the other hand are undergoing a mini resurgence of sorts and now find themselves in eighth place. Should be a great game with both sides looking for the three points.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.7m)

Has been looking sharp recently and could cause the damage in that defence.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-1 Leicester City

Crystal Palace vs Burnley

Palace have been great at home and have been playing some really good football lately which has got them out of trouble. However a slight hiccup last gameweek means they’ll be looking to bounce back. Burnley are certainly flying high and have conceded just 19 goals this season.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.9m)

Zaha is the man for Palace as he is the man who makes the attack click.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-1 Burnley

Huddersfield vs West Ham

Huddersfield are now winless in four games but still find themselves in 11th place which is something they would have taken at the start of the season. West Ham on the other hand have lost just one of their last five and have managed to creep up to a couple points above the drop zone. The Hammers will be looking to win but this Huddersfield team will make it difficult for them away from home.

STAR MAN: Laurent Depoitre (5.5m)

Has managed to score some important goals for his team this season and will be looking to do the same here.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 2-1 West Ham

Newcastle vs Swansea

The Toon have not looked very comfortable as this season has gone on and are now up against the team stuck at the bottom of the table, Swansea, who just don’t seem to be convincing enough to stay in the top flight this season. Newcastle will be looking to take full advantage of that and get those much needed three points.

STAR MAN: Dwight Gayle (6.1m)

He might be the surprise package of the week with his knack of scoring against such defences.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 2-0 Swansea

Watford vs Southampton

The Hornets have hit a snag in form where nothing seems to be going their way and have managed to pick up just three points from a possible fifteen available in the last five games. Southampton are surprise entrants in the battle for relegation, considering the strength of their squad. This seems like another game which might be difficult for them to get all three points from.

STAR MAN: Richarlison (6.9m)

What a season it has been for this lad and he will be hoping to play similarly through the second half of it as well.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-0 Southampton

West Brom vs Brighton

The Baggies come into this game on the back of a 23 game winless streak & have shown no signs of improvement lately. Brighton on the contrary travel to the Hawthorns after proceeding to the 4th round of the FA Cup & the confidence gained should be enough to batter this seemingly relegation bound Pardew side.

STAR MAN: Pascal Gross (5.9m)

He is indeed the focal point of the Seagulls attack.

PREDICTION: West Brom 1-2 Brighton

Tottenham vs Everton

Pochettino’s Spurs side have come back stronger, having been thumped by City a few weeks ago, as they are unbeaten since. On the other hand, the Toffees are on the back of 2 defeats, in the league as well as the FA Cup. Spurs will be looking to capitalise on the mistakes of the top 4 and rise above them in table, and for that such games are a must win.

STAR MAN: Heung-min Son (8.1m)

Can you stop him from scoring!?

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-0 Everton

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

The magic of the cup!? Yeah, I guess it actually exists, as Arsenal were battered by Championship side, Nottingham Forest. In addition, Arsenal have had a minor slump in the league as well, having won just 1 in the last 4. Wenger will be looking to get things back on track, and you couldn’t ask for a much better opponent to do that against at the moment.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.8m)

He will definitely be looking to bid farewell to the Gunners in the best of fashions (if he does go to Man City).

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-3 Arsenal

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Manchester City are running away with it by the look of things and there seems to be no one who is even close to stopping them. However, this fixture might be a test for the City defence as they face a Klopp side who are determined to perform and score against any opposition they face. With the likes of Salah, Firmino and Mane possibly firing, anything is possible.

STAR MAN: Raheem Sterling (8.9m)

5 goals and 3 assists in the last 6 games. He will indeed be determined to make a statement on his return to Merseyside.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City

Manchester United vs Stoke

Jose’s United come into this game on the back of a minor slump in the league, having won just 1 of the last 4 & drawn the other 3. With the title looking out of reach, Mourinho will be looking to cement 2nd place & for that such games are a must win.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.3m)

It’s time that the big Belgian gets back on the scoresheet.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 3-0 Stoke
