Gameweek 29 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 29 beckons after a somewhat entertaining gameweek 28. As we now approach the business end of the season, managers will be looking to get the maximum out of their players and certain matches could now be key for individual teams.

Burnley vs Everton

Two clubs in similar positions with just three points separating them and both looking at slightly besting mid-table come the end of the season. Both managers will just be looking to end the season on a good note in order to carry forward that momentum into the next season.

STAR MAN: Aaron Lennon (5.4m)

The winger could add dynamic to the team and provide a new threat going forward.

PREDICTION: Burnley 2-1 Everton

Leicester vs Bournemouth

The clear favourites for this game are the home side but not to forget the fact that the Foxes have failed to win their last four fixtures and are in somewhat of a points drought. The Cherries will be looking to take advantage of this situation and could also move into the top half of the table with a victory.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.7m)

The striker will be an important part of the Foxes attack for sure.

PREDICTION: Leicester City 3-1 Bournemouth

Southampton vs Stoke

The Saints have just 27 points in total and are right in the thick of the relegation battle along with their opponents Stoke who have been very poor this season. Both teams need wins to get themselves closer to the 40 point mark and both managers will be looking to get to it as soon as possible.

STAR MAN: Guido Carillo (6.5m)

His presence could make a difference up front against a very weak Stoke defence.

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-1 Stoke

Tottenham vs Huddersfield

Although they did get lucky last time to pick up a victory against Palace, this home game just seems to be a formality and on paper does look like an easy home victory for Spurs. Huddersfield will try with all their might but an away victory at Wembley seems just a bit too much for them.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.9m)

Who else other than this man to tear that Huddersfield defence apart?

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-0 Huddersfield

Swansea vs West Ham

This could be an interesting match with both teams still in a spot of bother and just three points separating them. A win for the Swans will lift them out of the relegation zone and new manager Carlos Carvalhal will expect nothing else other than the three points at home.

STAR MAN: Jordan Ayew (5.4m)

He will be crucial up front with his pace and work rate if the Swans were to win this game.

PREDICTION: Swansea 2-0 West Ham

Watford vs West Brom

Watford come into this fixture placed 10th, and looking to cement their place in the top half of the table. The Baggies on the contrary are placed rock bottom of the table, looking almost certain to be going down, having developed a 6 point gap to 19th place. If the Baggies are to have any chances of staying up, they can’t afford to make any more mistakes.

STAR MAN: Craig Dawson (4.8m)

Always steps up when his side needs him the most.

PREDICTION: Watford 0-1 West Brom

Liverpool vs Newcastle

Liverpool have been sticking to their plan and doing what they do best; attack, attack & attack! This week they welcome their former manager to Anfield, Rafa Benitez, and Klopp will definitely be looking for nothing less than the 3 points, though we expect Rafa to have a defensive plan in place.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (10.5m)

He just can’t stop delivering the goods.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle

Brighton vs Arsenal

Arsenal haven’t had the best of weeks lately, but this fixture is one we just can’t see the Gunners losing. A dominating away win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (10.5m)

The former Dortmund lad is indeed one to watch.

PREDICTION: Brighton 0-3 Arsenal

Manchester City vs Chelsea

The champions Chelsea aren’t where they would have expected to be in the league, having lost to Jose Mourinho’s side last weekend, and the Blues will surely be looking to bounce back immediately. This weekend they’re up against United’s cross city rivals, who won’t be a side that will easily hand Conte the 3 points.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (12.0m)

You can always bank upon the Argentine to take his side home.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Jose and his boys come into this fixture on the back of a big, big win against Conte’s Chelsea side. This week they travel to Selhurst Park, in a game we’re almost certain United will win (unless they want to make giving City that guard of honour in 3 weeks’ time more likely).

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.2m)

Always scores against the small teams, doesn’t he..?

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester United
