The 5th gameweek of this new Premier League season dawns upon us and along with it comes a few tasty fixtures, in which wise and slightly cheeky investments could reap massive reward.

So here is the gameweek 5 preview. Below is our insight on how each fixture could pan out along with the star man predictions to help you become your mini league leaders.

So good luck & may your arrows be green!

Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth have had an horrendous start to this Premier League campaign and have lost their first four games in the league having scored just the one goal up until now. Brighton on the other hand haven’t showed the same form from their Championship season yet but still managed to win their first game of the season last week. This will make for an interesting match-up with the Cherries needing to win.

STAR MAN: Jermain Defoe (7.8m)

The striker hasn’t started well at all this season and will be looking to get his team up and running this week.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

Crystal Palace have had a dismal start to their season this time around, having not scored a single goal and they have already sacked their manager De Boer. Southampton on the other hand have also not started well with just one win in four games. The Eagles will be determined to get a result in front of the home crowd.

STAR MAN: Andros Townsend (5.8m)

Has been quiet thus far but certainly has the potential to ignite the Palace attack.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-1 Southampton

Huddersfield vs Leicester

Huddersfield would not have expected their first top tier season to start the way it has as they find themselves in sixth place after the first four games, having only had their defence breached last time out against the Hammers. Leicester City on the other hand have managed to win just the one game so far. A team that has defended well to date against a team that can score quite freely makes for an interesting game; something has to give.

STAR MAN: Riyad Mahrez (8.5m)

His vision and trickery will be crucial for the Foxes in order to breakdown the Huddersfield defence.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-3 Leicester

Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool are on the back of a disappointing 5-0 thumping at the hands of Manchester City and will be looking to bounce back in the coming gameweek. Burnley on the other hand have started quite well keeping in mind their fixtures and will surely provide a tough competition for the reds. The Clarets will probably find it difficult away from home against a determined LFC side but they have caused Liverpool issues in the past.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (9.1m)

His blistering pace could cause a lot of problems to the Burnley defence.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-0 Burnley

Newcastle vs Stoke

The Magpies have had a rather unpredictable start to the season with no certainty about what team will turn up on a particular matchday. However, Newcastle have won their previous two games which will give them confidence moving into this one. The Potters played out an impressive 2-2 draw last weekend against the Red Devils and they sure did show some character in that game.

STAR MAN: Matt Ritchie (5.9m)

Having assisted twice in his previous two games, he will be looking to get onto the scoresheet as well for his side.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 1-1 Stoke

Watford vs Manchester City

Watford have arguably had a brilliant start to the season, having thumped Southampton at St Mary’s last time out. The Citizens on the other hand are undefeated in the league and will be looking to carry the momentum on after tearing apart the Liverpool defence. The Hornets don’t seem to be a side that will give Pep a problem.

STAR MAN: Gabriel Jesus (10.4m)

The Brazilian will definitely be pumped after last week’s brace against the mighty Reds.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-3 Manchester City

West Brom vs West Ham

The Baggies’ dream start to the season was hampered by a very desperate Brighton side last time around. The Hammers on the other hand got their first win of the season in the Monday night kick off against the Terriers. Both teams will definitely come out hunting for another 3 points and is definitely a hard fixture to call.

STAR MAN: Javier Hernandez (7.1m)

The Mexican needs to help the Hammers push on after their win and we’re backing him to do that this week.

PREDICTION: West Brom 1-2 West Ham

Tottenham vs Swansea

Pochettino’s side will want to get their first league Wembley win under their belt and this seems like a great opportunity to do so.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.4m)

August is over & the party has just begun.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-0 Swansea

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Super Sunday begins with a bang with 2 league giants going head to head in a London derby. Chelsea seem to be on a roll with 3 back to back wins after an opening day defeat at the hands of Burnley. On the contrary, Arsenal are still trying to get back some respect which they blatantly lost against Liverpool, just before the international break. Both side are raring to go and will be looking for nothing less than the 3 points, but with the attacking form the Blues are in & the home crowd on their side, it seems like they’ll just be edging this tie.

STAR MAN: Alvaro Morata (10.1m)

The Spaniard needs no introduction after 3 goals & 2 assists in his opening 4 games.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal

Manchester United vs Everton

The early season league leaders have been playing some amazing football lately, though they stumbled a bit in the away game at Stoke. On the other hand, the Toffees are winless in each of the last 3 games. United will be looking to go out all guns blazing in a much familiar environment as fan favourite Wayne Rooney makes a return to Old Trafford.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.7m)

Could you look past him?!

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Everton
