Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 12 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Well, gameweek 10 was certainly a week to have City attackers as they thumped Southampton for 6. There’s some tasty fixtures and therefore players worth considering for your captain’s armband this week too so choose wisely.

Before we take a look at this week’s picks, here’s how last week’s got on:

1. Harry Kane – 7 points
2. Sergio Aguero – 11 points
3. Callum Wilson – 7 points
Differential – Ross Barkley – 2 points
Gamble – Mo Salah – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks…

1. Sergio Aguero (MUN)

Number one for this week was actually a lot harder than you might think, especially after Man United’s comeback against Juventus; United being Aguero’s next league opponent. They defended magnificently well, however City are unbelievable at breaking down defences, and last season saw them score four times against their neighbours. Considering that City are still unbeaten this season, and with Liverpool and Chelsea breathing down their necks, they’ll be eager to extend that lead. Aguero has been in good form as of late, and was rested for their midweek UCL game, so should be fully fit and play the full 90!

2. Callum Wilson (NEW)

What a season for both the Englishman and the club, and although they lost in the game against Man United, Wilson managed to score again, meaning he’s one of the most prolific scorers in the league this season, and could have had a lot more! They take on a struggling Newcastle side who won their first match last week to Watford, so considering how good Wilson has been in the past month, you have to say that he could well turn out to be a decent option for captaincy, considering how poor Newcastle are at the back!

3. Mo Salah (FUL)

Still too early to judge on whether or not he’s a one season wonder. The underlying stats suggest that he really should be on more points (our good old friend xG and xA!) than what he is on at the moment, but a terrible performance against Red Star Belgrade in Serbia has forced me to put him as number three on this list. They take on Fulham and surely they have to bounce back from that horrific night on Tuesday with a win against a side that look woeful. They’re yet to keep a clean sheet, and Liverpool are fantastic at Anfield, so a win looks very likely!

Differential – Felipe Anderson (HUD)

I was a little sceptical of Anderson when he signed for West Ham. He has impressed me in patches so far this season, but I’d expect a lot more from a player who was signed for £36m in the summer (roughly the same as Richarlison, btw!). He’s scored 3 goals and assisted just the once this season, but with a brace in his last match, and a visit to Huddersfield next week, at 3.0%, he looks like he could be a decent little differential at only £6.8m.

Gamble – Richarlison (CHE)

This one was a hard choice, because I was tempted to choose Hazard due to his lack of game time recently. Even swayed by Barkley as he’ll most likely play well against the team he hates. But I’ve opted for the Brazilian, mainly because he’s playing magnificently well and his 2 goals at Brighton prove that, especially his second and how classy it was. Interesting fact; Chelsea have only kept one clean sheet at Stamford Bridge this season, and Everton have only failed to score in a match once, just proving how good they are in attack. It’s a huge gamble, but could pay off if Everton provide a huge shock on Sunday.
