Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 26 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 26 is upon us after a successful double gameweek for those who captained Aguero. That said, before we look at this week’s picks, here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Raheem Sterling – 11 points
2. Richarlison – 3 points
3. Mohamed Salah – 2 points
Differential – James Ward-Prowse – 2 points
Gamble – Eden Hazard – 15 points

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Mohamed Salah (BOU)

A rare blank for Salah meant that Liverpool were held to a draw at West Ham, but they really weren’t at the races and will need to rectify that in their next match to Bournemouth. Man City are now top of the league on goal difference, but every game now for Liverpool has to be a win. They’ll need their top scoring man to be at the races, and if he repeats his performance in the reverse fixture (a hat-trick!) then captaining him seems like a no brainier!

2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (HUD)

I haven’t been impressed with him lately. I thought he was largely invisible against Man City but despite this, he’s still retuned 2 goals and 2 assists in the last 5 games, and a home game to Huddersfield will surely see him add to that tally, considering how poor Huddersfield are. They conceded 5 to Chelsea last week, and I doubt Jan Siewart will be able to stop Aubemyang from scoring, despite his relatively poor form.

3. Paul Pogba (FUL)

Would you believe that Pogba has only blanked once since Mourinho was sacked? No, me neither, because it was incredibly obvious that Pogba was purposefully playing poorly due to his poor relationship with Jose. He’s now owned by 38% of FPL managers and with 6 goals and 6 assists in only 8 games, he could be a decent captaincy option. Man United play Fulham this week, a team who have only kept 2 clean sheets all season, to Huddersfield and Newcastle. I’d be very surprised if Pogba doesn’t get more than 6 points this week!

Differential – Joao Moutinho (NEW)

I simply refuse to believe that Wolves got this man for £5m, because he ran the game against Everton. He’s got 5 assists in the last 3 games, and was comfortably the best player on the pitch last week. He’s only owned by 5% of FPL managers, and could be a decent differential considering how well he’s playing. Plus, he’s only £5.3m too; bargain in real life, and on FPL! They play on Monday night against Newcastle at home… who doesn’t love a Monday Night captain?!

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (CHE)

It was either tiredness or brilliant defending by Everton that made him completely invisible on Wednesday, but either way, a hat-trick, followed by that performance was a little disappointing from the Argentinian. He had 32 touches all game, his personal lowest all season, but that has seemingly gone unnoticed as he had a blinder of a game against Arsenal. That’s why he’s a gamble this week – I really can’t predict which Aguero will turn up, especially against Chelsea!
