Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 6 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 6 is bearing down on us, and as the mini-leagues start to take place, the captaincy selection becomes ever more important. Before we look at this week’s picks, here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Sergio Aguero – 7 points
2.
Eden Hazard – 20 points
3.
Romelu Lukaku – 6 points
Differential –
Danny Ings – 7 points
Gamble –
Mohamed Salah – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Sergio Aguero (CAR)

Despite being taken off in the 50th minute, Aguero still managed to get 2 assists in Man City’s win, and was unlucky to not see his name on the scoresheet against Fulham. He’s is listed as a doubt for the next game against Cardiff, but the ITK’s for Man City news appear to suggest that Aguero’s injury isn’t too serious, and should be back for the game next Sunday. Cardiff conceded 4 goals last week to Chelsea, proving that their defence has got some flaws to it. Hopefully those flaws will be exploited by Aguero and co!

2. Eden Hazard (CHE)

For those who didn’t know, Hazard is still yet to blank in a game this season, scoring 5 and assisting 2 in only 5 games. Two of those he only played for a combined total of 40 minutes. Considering his form, you’d think he’d be nailed on for the number one slot, however, nothing’s ever that easy as he hasn’t travelled with the Chelsea squad, which may indicate a problem that could be further proven in the game against West Ham. He’s still only owned by 28% of FPL managers, which is high, but compared to the Agueros, Salahs etc, this number is actually surprisingly low!

3. Ryan Fraser (BUR)

The wee Scot has been phenomenal this season! He’s scored 3 goals and assisted twice, even rejecting the chance to take the penalty for what would have been his hat-trick. This is a player only owned by 10%! An away game to Burnley is his next task, and they’ve struggled to pick up points this season, possibly due to their appearance in the Europa League. Considering how poor they’ve been at the back and the fact they were lucky not to have conceded 4 to Wolves, Fraser could well be a solid option for captaincy! Unlike Hazard and Aguero, he’s played 90 minutes every game and hasn’t got any injury problems. Could he keep up his form?

Differential – Romelu Lukaku (WOL)

I feel like Lukaku may have gone under the radar this season. In his last 4 starts, he’s managed to score 4 goals. A home game to Wolves is his next task, which is not the easiest game but certainly not a difficult task for the Belgian. Considering his record in previous seasons, and how poorly Harry Kane has started, I’m very surprised to see Lukaku’s ownership below the 10% mark, and considering the ‘big two’ in Hazard and Aguero are doubts for their matches, I’d definitely recommend considering Lukaku for captaincy. He’s not exactly a gamble, because we all know what that he is capable!

Gamble – Mohamed Salah (SOU)

I don’t know what it is with Salah, but the chances that he was burying last season seem to be causing him all sorts of problems. He’s having good games, but not finding the back of the net, disappointing the 40% who own him. I’m not one to be labelling him a ‘one-season wonder’, because I do think he’s genuinely class, and I do think that this poor form will end sooner rather than later. What better way to end it than a home game against Southampton this weekend. His form may put plenty off captaining him, just bare that in mind!
