Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 7 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 7 is fast approaching and with some brilliant fixtures this week, that captaincy selection is important as always. Before we look at this week’s selections, here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Sergio Aguero – 6 points
2. Eden Hazard – 3 points
3. Ryan Fraser – 2 points
Differential – Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
Gamble – Mohamed Salah – 8 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Sergio Aguero (BHA)

Aguero missed out on the Carabao Cup match to Oxford so he’s had a week rest before the match to Brighton this week. This is important, because in the previous two matches he’s had to come off earlier than expected due to an injury, albeit as a precaution, but worrying considering the amount of goals that he’s missing out on. Man City are in blazing form, scoring 8 in their previous 2 matches, and a home game to Brighton could see them extend that tally. Aguero currently has 4 goals and 4 assists this season, a very impressive record, and one that could definitely be improved on this Saturday!

2. Harry Kane (HUD)

He’s been a massive disappointment this season, but in fairness to him, Kane has always been a slow starter. He looks fatigued in almost every match he’s involved in, and has only scored 3 goals this season, which is quite a poor return for a lone striker who always plays the full 90. The next match is against Huddersfield though who are really struggling to pick up any points and I can see Kane getting at least one in this match. Huddersfield conceded 9 goals in only two matches to Chelsea and Man City, so Spurs could definitely exploit Wagner’s men on Saturday.

3. Richarlison

Admit it, we’ve all secretly missed him. Buying Theo Walcott as a replacement was a horrific idea, and let’s face it, we all couldn’t wait to put him back in our teams. He was unlucky not to have scored against Arsenal, being denied by an impressive Petr Cech, but it was clear to see how much Everton have missed his attacking prowess. He is the only bright spark to their season thus far. A home match to Fulham is his next task, and at £6.8m, he’s definitely one to consider for captaincy.

Differential – Jamie Vardy (NEW)

His red card in the second week caused a lot of FPL managers, including myself, to completely forget about him. His goal and assist in the last match definitely put him back in the minds of everyone, and is still only owned by 4%. He and Maddison looked like they could have a very good relationship together, and he’s only priced at £8.9m too. He had 6 shots on target too last weekend, the highest amount from any player in GW6. Newcastle have struggled defensively this season and were lucky not to have conceded last week to Sakho, who missed from point blank range. Going off of last week’s match, Vardy and Maddison could definitely torment that weak defence.

Gamble – Eden Hazard (LIV)

Carragher named him the best player in the league when he scored against Liverpool, and although I disagree, the goal was phenomenal, skipping past Moreno and smashing it past Mignolet making it seem like they were children. Hazard was only playing for 5 minutes and he was named man of the match, and the exact same fixture will happen again late on Saturday when Chelsea take on Liverpool. Despite his 5 goals and 2 assists, he’s a gamble because Liverpool haven’t lost or drawn yet in the league, and when they have a stronger squad out than the one they played in the cup, this game will be a lot harder for Hazard and co.
