Differential Picks – FPL Gameweek 10 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Josh Murphy scored and put in a man of the match performance in Cardiff’s win over Fulham to do the Differential Picks proud last week. Hopefully the points will be a tad more spread ahead of gameweek 10, where some interesting options have presented themselves:

MESUT OZIL – £8.4m – TSB: 5% – Crystal Palace (A)

Arsenal’s creative star Mesut Ozil has been inconsistent as a fantasy asset over the past few years. Those who owned him in 2015/16 will remember fondly his incredible 19 assists, but it has been hard to pin down his points ever since. Finally, under Unai Emery, a steady stream of points for Ozil may return as Arsenal’s front line have begun to click early in the new regime. After 2 goals and 5 bonus points over gameweeks 5 and 7, Ozil missed Arsenal’s trouncing of Fulham with a back problem. However, he returned with a masterful performance against Leicester, managing a goal and assist in a display that showcased the German’s incredible ability when he’s fit and firing. Arsenal travel to a Crystal Palace side who have lost their last 3 and if Ozil’s fine form continues, Arsenal will do plenty of damage.

RYAN SESSEGNON – £6.1m – TSB: 3% – Bournemouth (H)

Fulham are having a disaster of a season defensively so far. They have conceded 25 goals in just 9 games, more than any other Premier League side in the history of the competition at this stage. However, they still offer potential going forward. One man who may benefit via a shift from left-back to the left-wing is Ryan Sessegnon. Back in his favoured position, Sessegnon scored at Cardiff last time out, perhaps encouraging manager Slavisa Jokanovic to let the 18 year old continue in an attacking role. Having scored 15 goals and 8 assists in the Championship last season, the Englishman will be raring to go at home to a Bournemouth side with just one away clean sheet this campaign.

DEJAN LOVREN – £4.9m – TSB: 2.2% – Cardiff (H)

The Liverpool defence has been heavily invested in over the course of the season, with the Reds keeping an impressive 6 clean sheets in 9 games so far this season. However, there is now uncertainty surrounding the backline with the return of Croatian centre-back Dejan Lovren over the past couple of games. He has started the last 2, picking up a clean sheet and 3 bonus points in each game. He was Virgil Van Dijk’s partner for the majority of last season and if fantasy managers are willing to accept the slight risk of rotation with Joe Gomez, then he provides a cut-price route into the defence. Having missed out on Liverpool’s midweek Champions League fixture, Lovren looks set to start again at home to Cardiff, with clean sheet and bonus point potential again in the offing.

GERARD DEULOFEU – £5.4m – TSB: 0.1% – Huddersfield (H)

In another under 1% TSB punt, I’ve opted to pick the recently returned Gerard Deulofeu ahead of Watford’s tempting home fixture against Huddersfield. The ex-Barcelona winger played up top with Isaac Success as Watford sent high-flying Wolves crashing down to earth in gameweek 9. An impressive performance should see Deulofeu keep his place as Watford’s fixtures ease up, with trips to struggling Newcastle and Southampton for the Hornets after this weekend. Huddersfield have kept just 1 clean sheet all season and may find Watford’s new look attack hard to handle.

DANNY INGS – £5.6m – TSB: 5.6% – Newcastle (H)

Recently, FPL managers have opted for Wolves forward Raul Jimenez over Southampton’s Danny Ings as their budget forward. Ings has gone 3 games without a goal but his underlying stats have remained decent as he continues to fire off shots ahead of a game against a Newcastle side sitting at the foot of the table with just 1 point from their last 7 fixtures. Expect Ings to return to goalscoring form at St. Mary’s this weekend and garner attention from managers looking for enablers in the weeks to come.

Good luck all!
