Fantasy Football Potential – Aleksandar Mitrovic

Fulham have re-signed Aleksandar Mitrovic from Newcastle, however this time it is on a permanent basis. Mitrovic has joined the Cottagers on a five year deal for a fee believed to be around £20 million.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is also experienced internationally, as the Serbian represented his country at the 2018 World Cup. Unfortunately they couldn’t get out of the group stages, but he did get one of their only two goals at the tournament. He now has over 40 caps for Serbia, with a total of 17 goals.

Here’s what Mitrovic had to say about his move back to Fulham:

“This is a big club and last year we made history, we did big things, and I want to continue this. We want to keep making big things and with all the fans behind us I think we can go far.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (6.5m)

Last season Mitrovic was at Fulham on loan and he helped them to promotion with 12 goals and 1 assist in 17 games. His Premier League record isn’t as impressive as his Fulham record, as he has scored ten goals and assisted four in a total of 40 appearances. At only 23, Mitrovic appears to have a good relation with his fellow Serbian manager and Fulham’s system looks to suit him more than the system that was deployed at Newcastle.

Mitrovic has been priced at £6.5m in Fantasy Premier League, which makes him the same price as ex teammate Ayoze Perez, which does seem fair and perfect for that third striker spot. If Mitrovic can convert the form that he had in the Championship to the Premier League then at that price he will find himself in many fantasy teams.

Fulham’s first 5 are; Crystal Palace (H), Tottenham (A), Burnley (H), Brighton (A) and Manchester City (A), only two home games, coupled with some tough trips away from home. It’s not the worst set of fixtures and at 6.5m, Mitrovic could make a perfect cheaper third midfielder.
