Fantasy Football Potential – Jason Puncheon

Huddersfield have signed Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon on a loan deal lasting until the end of the season. Puncheon joins the Terriers who are rock bottom of the league and in need of a minor miracle to stay up.

The former Blackpool man has had his fair share of injuries as of late meaning he has lost his place in the Palace side to the likes of James McArthur and Luka Milivojevic. He had played just 13 minutes of Premier League football before joining Huddersfield which has lead to his move to Yorkshire.

Before his departure, David Wagner said on the move:

“I am very happy to welcome Jason to Huddersfield Town. It is clear we want to add quality and options to our midfield areas in this January transfer window.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (4.2m)

With the short amount of game time with the Eagles, his fitness would’ve not been at its peak, but with two sets of 90 minutes under his belt for Huddersfield he should be near enough now and looking to push on.

His minimal price of just £4.2m would make him the perfect option for a fifth midfielder spot in your squad. He is guaranteed game time but his goal involvement will be limited in a Huddersfield side who have struggled to do so ever since they have been in the top flight.

Huddersfield next five fixtures are as follows: Everton (H), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A) and Wolves (H). More tough fixtures for Huddersfield coming up, could see Jan Siewert’s side slip further and further form safety.
