Fantasy Football Potential – Michy Batshuayi

Crystal Palace have made the loan signing of Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi from fellow Premier League club Chelsea until the end of the season. Batshuayi had even out on loan at Valencia for the first half of the season but has made his way back to Premier League football with the Eagles.

Chelsea had spent around £32 million on the striker a couple of years ago but hasn’t yet found a decent run of games to prove himself. The incoming of Gonzalo Higuain had all but killed off his chances of adding to his Chelsea tally this campaign.

On the move Palace Chairman Steve Parish has said:

“This is a fantastic signing for Palace. Michy is a player we’ve long admired and I’m delighted that we’ve finally managed to get him in a red and blue shirt. He will be a magnificent addition to our squad”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (6.5m)

He has been generously priced at £6.5m which for a player of this calibre, could become a bargain. He played just eight minutes coming on as a sub in Palace’s 2-0 win over Fulham, yet still managed an assist after a clever turn and shot fell to Jeffrey Schlupp.

Last season he managed just two goals and assist in the Premier League as he spent the majority of the season in Germany with Borussia Dortmund where he impressed with a tidy amount of goals. He could eventually partner fellow Belgian Christian Benteke, so a partnership between them could be fruitful.

Crystal Palace’s next five fixtures are as follows: West Ham (H), Leicester (A), Manchester United (H), Burnley (A) and Brighton (H). Some crucial fixtures for Roy Hodgson’s side where Batshuayi can pick up a few goals and assists.
