Fantasy Football Potential – Oumar Niasse

Cardiff have signed Everton striker Oumar Niasse on a loan deal which will see the Senegalese forward at the club until the end of their campaign. Niasse has struggled for game time under Marco Silva with Cenk Tosun and Richarlison being preferred striker for Silva.

Niasse joins a Cardiff side deprived of goals with their top scorer Callum Paterson having just four goals to his name. Neil Warnock would have planned to partner Niasse with the incoming Emiliano Sala, but due to his disappearance and presumed death after a plane accident it will most likely be Paterson.

Speaking to Cardiff City TV, Oumar said:

“I’m really pleased to be at Cardiff City. Having heard about the manager from other players and met him earlier today, I knew it was the right move for me. Other clubs were interested but I was convinced that this was where I wanted to come.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (5.0m)

Niasse has already made his debut for Cardiff in the Premier League which came against fellow strugglers Newcastle where the bluebirds fell to a 3-0 loss at St James’s Park. Niasse completed 63 minutes to improve on his fitness and could be what Warnock needs to keep his side up.

His price of £5.0m could turn out to be a bargain if he can rediscover his form which almost kept Hull City up and which saw him score eight times in the equivalent of around twelve full games last season for Everton.

Cardiff’s next five fixtures are as follows: Arsenal (A), Bournemouth (H), Southampton (A), Watford (H) and Everton (H). These are some important games for Cardiff which could prove to be the difference between staying up or relegation.
