Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 28 – FPL Tips

With less than 10 gameweeks left for the season to culminate, it’s about time everyone pulls up their socks, and aim for as high as possible.

Good Luck and May your arrows be Green!

Cardiff vs Everton

Cardiff City will be aiming to bounce back from a heavy 5-1 loss to Watford when they welcome Everton at their Cardiff City Stadium on Matchday 28. The Bluebirds are sitting in the danger zone in the Premier League standings, meaning that Tuesday’s football match is of big importance for them. The Welsh outfit are likely to leave their hearts on the field, but beating Everton is easier said than done. The 2018/2019 Premier League season has been a mixed bag for the Toffees to date. Everton are on a three-match losing run at the moment, but they are definitely capable of grabbing something from the clash against the relegation-threatened side. A close encounter is on the cards and we predict that the two teams are going to share the spoils in Wales on Tuesday evening.

STAR MAN: Sol Bamba (4.7m)

2 goals and a clean sheet in the last 3 games. Investment worthy?

PREDICTION: Cardiff 1-1 Everton

Huddersfield vs Wolves

Huddersfield Town are running down a blind alley ahead of Tuesday’s football game against Wolverhampton. The Terriers are on a five-game losing run in the Premier League, meaning that the lack of confidence is likely to prove to be a big problem for them in the match against Wolves. Huddersfield suffered a 2-0 loss to Newcastle United at the weekend and seeing that Smith was sent off in the St. James’ Park clash, he is going to miss the Wolves game through suspension. Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops aim to move a little closer to the Europa League berth and considering that the Terriers do not seem to be on top of their game at the moment, we are tempted to put our money on the visitors. In the first half of the season Huddersfield defeated Wolverhampton on the road, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge.

STAR MAN: Raul Jimenez (6.9m)

He is certainly a sure shot source for points.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-3 Wolves

Leicester vs Brighton

The King Power Stadium will host Tuesday’s football game between Leicester City and Brighton. The Foxes head into the match following a heavy 4-1 home loss to Crystal Palace and it has to be noted that they are on a three-game losing run. Leicester City must be low on confidence ahead of the visit of Brighton, but they need to get back on course as soon as possible if they are to avoid relegation to the Championship. The Seagulls were not in action in the Premier League at the weekend, meaning that tired legs are unlikely to prove to be a problem for them in the midweek clash. Brighton are desperate to move away from the danger zone in the standings and given Leicester City’s poor form, we predict that the visitors are going to grab something from the King Power Stadium game.

STAR MAN: Glen Murray (6.3m)

If fit, his arial presence could be vital for the visitors.

PREDICTION: Leicester 1-2 Brighton

Newcastle vs Burnley

Newcastle needed a win against Huddersfield Town at the weekend and they managed to get one. The Magpies picked up all three points from the game against the ten-man visitors and they will be looking to build on the triumph when they welcome Burnley at their St. James’ Park on Matchday 28. Rafa Benitez’s troops are determined to secure yet another Premier League survival and we are positive that they are going to fight tooth and nail in the midweek clash against the Clarets. Burnley did remarkably well to beat Tottenham at home in their last league match, but seeing that they are not considered good travelers, we are tempted to put our money on Salomon Rondon and his teammates this time out. In their last meeting in the English top flight Newcastle United defeated Burnley at Turf Moor 2-1.

STAR MAN: Salomon Rondon (5.9m)

He’s the man hot on form, delivering the points.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 2-1 Burnley

Arsenal vs Bournemouth

Arsenal play host to Bournemouth at their Emirates Stadium on day 28 of the 2018/2019 Premier League campaign. The Gunners are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that they are eager to book their place in the Champions League, we predict that they are going to stick to their attacking style of play against Bournemouth. Unai Emery’s troops have turned their Emirates Stadium into a real fortress, they defeated Southampton in London at the weekend and given the Cherries’ poor away record, we are positive that the capital club will emerge triumphant in Wednesday’s football game. Eddie Howe’s troops failed to score in previous three away games in the national championship, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. You should bear in mind that the Cherries are on a nine-game losing run in the English top flight ahead of the trip to London.

STAR MAN: Alexandre Lacazette (9.5m)

4 goals in the last 5 games. One to keep tabs on.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth

Southampton vs Fulham

St. Mary’s Stadium will host relegation six-pointer between Southampton and Fulham. Both teams are desperate to secure the Premier League survival and, no doubt, there will be fireworks when they face each other in the midweek fixture. The Saints have been having their ups and downs in the second half of the season, but they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. It is well known that Southampton produce much better showings at home than on the travels and seeing that the Cottagers experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to West Ham in the London derby, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. In their last meeting at St. Mary’s Stadium Southampton recorded a 2-0 win over Fulham, with the likes of Paul Lambert and Jay Rodriguez scoring for the hosts.

STAR MAN: Nathan Redmond (5.3m)

His pace would be a major concern for the away side.

PREDICTION: Southampton 2-0 Fulham

Chelsea vs Tottenham

There will be fireworks when Chelsea and Tottenham face each other at Stamford Bridge in the local derby. Chelsea suffered a heavy 6-0 loss to Manchester City in their last league match and, as a result, they are no longer sitting in top four in the standings. Wednesday’s football game is of big importance for Mauricio Sarri’s men and we predict that they are going to fight tooth and nail against Spurs. Mauro Pochettino’s troops, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a shocking 2-1 loss at Burnley where they produced one of their worst performances of the season. Tottenham are eager to stay in the race for the Premier League trophy, but seeing that Chelsea are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we are tempted to put our money on Eden Hazard and Co. this time out.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (10.8m)

He will need to step up his game for this big one.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Crystal Palace and Manchester United face each other at Selhurst Park in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of Wednesday’s program. Batshuayi scored on his debut for the Eagles in a 4-1 win at Leicester City and all eyes will be on the former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea attacker when the capital club face the Red Devils on Matchday 28. Crystal Palace are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Man Utd and we are positive that they are going to grab something from the midweek fixture. The Red Devils have been producing fine performance in the national championship ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the reins, but seeing that Roy Hodgson’s men impressed in the triumph in the victory over Leicester, we are tempted to put our money on draw in this one.

STAR MAN: Paul Pogba (8.9m)

In the absence of United’s attacking core, the Frenchman will need to deliver the goods.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-2 Manchester United

Liverpool vs Watford

Liverpool will be looking to retain top position in the Premier League standings with a win over Watford at their Enfield. The Reds are desperate to win their first domestic title since 1990, but it is more than obvious that Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have strength in depth. However, seeing that Liverpool have been impressive at home ground this season, we predict that they are going to pick up all three points from Wednesday’s football game against Watford. The Hornets did well to roll over Cardiff City 5-1 on the road in their last league fixture, but the Reds are likely to pose a much bigger threat for them than their previous rivals. The hosts want this win more than the visitors and, taking everything into account, we believe that Javi Garcia’s men are going to return home empty-handed from the trip to Liverpool. In their last home game Jurgen Klopp’s charges defeated Bournemouth 3-0.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (13.6m)

After having an ineffective afternoon out at Old Trafford, he will be certainly be having an eye for goal.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-0 Watford

Manchester City vs West Ham

Manchester City will be looking to extend their winning run in the Premier League to four games when they host West Ham at their Etihad Stadium on Matchday 28. The Citizens have been scoring goals for fun in the national championship of late and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play in Wednesday’s football game. The Hammers, on the other hand, came from behind to beat Fulham in a local derby at the weekend, with the team putting an end to their four-game winless run in the English top flight. West Ham are tough to beat at home, but seeing that they are not regarded as good travelers, we predict that Pep Guardiola’s troops are going to pick up all three points from the midweek fixture. In the first half of the season the Citizens hammered the Hammers 4-0 at London Stadium.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.6m)

He is certainly a major force when on form.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 4-1 West Ham
