FPL Updates Gameweek 30 – Fantasy Premier League Tips

For the first time this season we’ve had 3 red arrows in a row. I don’t know why but the past few weeks have gone plain and simply, wrong. 37 points saw a drop to just inside the top 50k.

Captaincy couldn’t have gone worse as one kick cost the side a huge amount of points. I can’t recall the last time I captained someone who scored negative points and a penalty miss sums up our luck over the past few weeks.

Guaita was benched for Hennessey which meant a 0 pointer in net. Doherty was also benched as his side kept a clean sheet and came off the bench in the second half to annoyingly block AWB’s 5 pointer. Pereira picked up his second 0 pointer in 3 GWs and I’m regretting investing in such a poor defence. Robertson’s clean sheet was disappointing for his standards as he was booked while his teammates picked up bonus.

Mané and Salah’s £23m price tag combined for a total for 6 points away to Everton. Jota finally performed at Cardiff for an 11 pointer but was subbed before 60 minutes, costing him 3 points. A nightmare captaincy as Pogba missed a penalty and picked up dreaded minus points.

Jimenez returned a dozen, combing with Jota for both his goal and assist. He scooped maximum bonus and those two accounted for 62% of our points. Aguero failed to score against Bournemouth in his 89 minutes which was surprising. Rashford also scored 2 points but would’ve had an assist if Pogba converted the spot kick. Painful.

Transfers: Jota -> Brooks & Jimenez -> King

Two Wolves players are sold for two Bournemouth players for free. Looking ahead to the blank gameweeks, I won’t be fielding any Wolves players till the Wildcard in GW34 and Bournemouth’s fixtures turn and play both blanks. No value was tied up in either players and both incoming players look great value.

The backline are all at home this week. I’m hoping Guaita is recalled, him and Wan-Bissakahave Brighton at Selhurst Park. Robertson has Burnley at home which looks a great prospect. Pereira has the chance to finally return against bottom of the league Fulham. I feel like he’ll finally get some attacking returns at least.

Mané and Salah have a plum game at home to Burnley. They’ll be looking to bounce back after losing top spot. Brooks travels to Huddersfield who need to win desperately. Fingers crossed it’s an open game. I’m expecting Pogba to the business after last week’s catastrophe against a weak Arsenal defence. Confidence is sky high at the moment.

Rashford must be on cloud 9 as he heads to the emirates. He’ll fancy his chances against a side who’ve kept 5 clean sheets all season. Watford is Aguero‘s next opponent who shipped 5 to Liverpool in GW28. He’s had the week off and Man City don’t face Schalke till midweek. King double up in attack against a poor Huddersfield side. With Brooks back and Wilson returning soon, the Cherries are nearly back to full strength.

Captaincy: It was down to Salah and Aguero but the Argentine gets the armband. Salah’s form hasn’t been great and I feel Burnley will try to play for the draw. I sense the Watford game will be much more open and Aguero should do damage leading the line.
