Euro 2016 Preview – France – Fantasy Football Tips

France have won every football tournament that they have hosted and they will go into Euro 2016 seeing no reason as to why they cannot continue this fine record. In front of their own fans, Didier Deschamps’ fine blend of youth and experience will see his French side attempt to lift some silverware, just as he did as a player sixteen years ago.

France will face Albania, Romania and Switzerland in Group A, will most finish top of their group, but come up against some tough opposition as their opponents look to cause a shock.

Defence

The choice of defenders in Les Bleus’ squad are by no means sensational, as we have seen the likes of Eliaquim Mangala struggle in Fantasy Premier League all season in a Manchester City shirt. However, there is definitely one man who can be trusted in preventing the opposition from scoring; Hugo Lloris. The captain helped Tottenham to the best defensive record in the Premier League, boasting 13 clean sheets to his name and will to get his hands on the trophy come the 10th of July.

Midfield

Newly-crowned champion Ngolo Kante will link up with fellow Premier League colleagues Yohan Cabaye, Dimitri Payet and Moussa Sissoko in the midfield. The main man in the middle though will be without a doubt Paul Pogba. With eight goals and twelve assists in Serie A, the 23-year-old helped Juventus to their fifth consecutive Italian top tier title. You would be crazy to not consider him for France and wouldn’t want to make the same mistake that Sir Alex Ferguson did in letting him go!

Forwards

Up front, there are some big names to miss out on the 23-man squad. Karim Benzema and Alexandre Lacazette won’t be representing their country this summer, but Antoine Griezmann will most certainly be on the team-sheet. He was the top scorer in La Liga to not play for Barcelona and Real Madrid, with 22 La Liga goals in a team that specialises in defending. We will be looking for him to be finding the back of the net on several occasions.
