Euro 2016 Preview – Poland – Fantasy Football Tips

It will be an emotional month for Poland, who will face political rivals Germany and Ukraine in the group phase, but they will believe that they can make an impact with their best squad to date. This will be just their third European Championships, having gone out in the group on the previous two occasions. So how will the Poles get on?

Defence

Poland have a plethora of talented goalkeepers to choose from but Bournemouth’s Artur Boruc is likely to start in goal ahead of Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny, having had a good season helping the Cherries to achieve Premier League survival in their debut season in England’s top flight. Borussia Dortmund and Poland defender, Lukasz Piszczek is the best defensive option to pick from the Eastern European squad, with nearly 50 caps for his country.

Midfield

The Poland midfield will be marshalled by Sevilla’s powerhouse Grzegorz Krychowiak, who has been scouted by several top clubs across the continent. He keeps the midfield of the park organised, and has just enjoyed a Europa League triumph with his club so the 26-year-old knows what it takes to win a European tournament. He also scored twice in qualifying, with Poland scoring a whopping 33 goals in 10 games in total.

Forwards

And of course, the big man up front will be what the fans will be heavily relying on. Robert Lewandowski finished the season as the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 30 goals, as well as the top scorer in qualification with 13 goals, so he is a must have if you want to do well in the European fantasy football this summer. The Bayern Munich man is arguably the best striker in Europe at the moment.
