Fantasy Football Potential – Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea have eventually completed the signing of Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain on a loan deal from Italian side Juventus. Higuain had previously been out on loan at AC Milan and his short spell at the club saw him score six Série A goals.

Higuain, who has previously been at the likes of Real Madrid and Napoli is 31 years old, but despite this is still scoring the goals in top leagues, which is what Chelsea have been crying out for this season with Morata and Giroud struggling to find the back of then net.

Higuain on his move has said:

“When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it. It’s a team that I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (9.5m)

With Chelsea gunning for the top four this season they’ll certainly need a number nine to lead the line for them and Higuain looks the perfect candidate. At £9.5m he could be a steal and may replicate the form that Diego Costa showed in a Chelsea shirt.

He will be linking up again with midfield maestro Jorginho as they played together at Napoli, so the two could link up as Fabregas and Costa managed to do so well with the Blues, which would lead to great points for the both of them.

Chelsea’s next five fixtures are as follows: Bournemouth (A), Huddersfield (H), Man City (A), Blank and Tottenham (H). It’s a tough start in English for Higuain with a trip to the reigning champions and League Cup final in the blank gameweek.
