Fantasy Football Potential – Nathaniel Clyne

Bournemouth have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Liverpool right back Nathaniel Clyne on a loan deal running until the end of the season. Simon Francis had been ruled out long term for the Cherries meaning the vacant right back spot needed to be filled.

Clyne has struggled for game time under Jurgen Klopp lately after a long lay off with injury and the emergence of young right back Trent Alexander-Arnold. He’s played just 108 minutes this season due to injury and TAA so a move to Bournemouth is ideal for his career.

He told afcbTV:

“I am really excited by this opportunity. It’s a great chance for me to come and play football. I’ve spoken to the manager and we’ve talked about what we can achieve for the remainder of the season. It’s a great club with a great story. I can’t wait to get going.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (4.4m)

Clyne has a cut down price of £4.4m due to his lack of game time which is a very good deal as long as Bournemouth can discover their form from the first half of the season. He has already played completed two Premier League games for Bournemouth keeping a clean sheet against a potent West Ham attack.

Clyne used to be a fans favourite for FPL managers in his time across the South Coast for Southampton, linking up fantastically with Ryan Bertrand which had seen him score over a century of points three times since the 2013/14 campaign.

Bournemouth’s next five fixtures are as follows: Chelsea (H), Cardiff (A), Liverpool (A), Wolves (H) and Arsenal (A). It’s a very tough set of fixtures for Eddie Howe’s side who also have Manchester City after their trip to the Emirates.
